GM 1 deputy head of my old high school
GF 1 civil servant (fairly high up)
GM 2 bar maid
GF 2 chauffeur

maternal gf - groundsman for a local landowner
gm - housewife, i think she took in washing.
Paternal - gf - miner
gm = housewife
If you're interested in history they would have been born early 1900's north west england.

DF side - Factory workers DM side farmer and auto mechanic

GM 1 seasonal fruit picker
GF1 builder and grave digger
GM2 hairdresser then nursery (plant) worker
GF2 nurse working with people with learning difficulties (although then his qualification was nursing of the mentally subnormal )

GM 1 also worked in service until she married and helped out with births and dressing the dead in the village

GM - sister is psychiatric hospital
GD - hospital porter and in arm but recently found out that he was also a Drs caretaker and a nightclub bouncer 😀
GM - nurse in same hospital as other gm
GD - something to do with the railways but I'm sad to say I don't know what

Grandfather on my DM' side - worked for a company that made lifts.
Grandmother on my DM's side -was a SAHM,not sure what she did prior to that.
Grandfather on my DD's side - was in the army,then was an accountant.
Grandmother on my DD's side -was a SAHM,think she was a shorthand/typist before that.

MGF - paper mill foreman
MGM - cotton mill worker
PGF - managing director motorcycle company
PGM - secretary for a solicitor then computing technician in early days of business computing

One set ran Old peoples homes together until GF got sacked for being drunk. Then they were Nurse and security guard.

GF also drunkard who flitted between jobs.

What is the purpose of this thread?

One side miner and housewife other side had a small shop and a market stall.

Grandad on mums side was a large machines mechanic - fixed cranes etc. Nana was a home help nurse.

On dad's side his dad was a beefeater and mum worked in a factory filling jam doughnuts but got fired for overfilling them 'because they were tight and didn't put enough jam in'

Gd was a chef in the army then worked for b.r
Gm was a ft book keeper with 4 dds
Gd was a night shift worker at a car parts manufacturer.

GM1 was a China buyer for a department store.
GM2 was in service, then helped at the family shop I think.

GF1 didn't seem to do a lot- when I knew him he was always 'ill'.
GF2 was a joiner, handyman at a local institution, and business man (family shop).

GF2 fought in WW1, and was a warden in WW2.
GF1 was younger, I d9nt know what he did,
