Won a prize but company won't/reluctant to send it

I won a prize from a fairly big company in the week before Christmas. Prize is related to a hobby I have and is worth around £100. I was really happy to win and excitedly waited for the prize to turn up. The website I won through asked for my contact and delivery details and I had sent these promptly and received confirmation these had these.
I hadn't received anything by the end of January so contacted the company to check it hadn't been lost in the post...no answer. Left it a week and tried again and got an answer apologising that they had "lost my details" so I resent these. Agaij they confirmed they had them. Nothing had arrived mid February, so I messaged to check again it hadn't been lost in the post. No answer for a week and then they sent an email saying they were waiting for material to come in and would send when it did. My friend has ordered the same item from them recently and received in a week.
They just don't want to send it do they? Should I ask again or just give up and accept it isn't coming? My name was announced on their website so I definitely won!

Biscuits and crackers ... though luscious is correct in the context Grin

This happened to me with a Mumsnet prize, believe it or not! Grin

It was when The Duchess of Cambridge was pg with Prince George & Mumsnet ran a competition to guess the names of the royal baby.

I got the correct names (wrong order) & was contacted by Mumsnet for my address to send the prize (set of books). Unfortunately, I was on holiday at the time with no internet, so it was a couple of weeks before I replied but never heard anymore & never got the books.

@impostersyndrome
Have reopened my tab for this! Played for so long and have plenty of tokens but it only takes a few minutes to do! Thanks Grin

Also had this on a mumsnet competition on Mumsnet local page. Won some galt ankle/wrist rattles which never arrived. Emailed the person running the competition a few times but they didn't seem all that bothered. There's only so many times you can chase up a free toy before you look weird and grabby..

Does the Company begin with the letter H @MrsElvis? Only reason I ask is I am from Manchester and being looking to get them done and this looked like a popular one but won't bother if it was them!

I work for an agency and part of what we do is fulfil competitions on social media. It's a huge ball ache. We often get stuck between the client, the competition winner and the product team who are meant to be supplying the prize (who regularly don't)

We see this kind of thing quite a bit. It really sucks for the winners, but rest assured the people replying to your message probably just want to get it all tied up, and are being messed around by someone else in the business.

If you're getting nowhere google ASA/ CAP competition rules and quote them at the company. You might find things get sorted sharpish.

I'd have to hound them until I got it, I couldn't stand the sense of injustice. Good idea re Facebook.

@BringMeCoffee yes!

Hi there WillowKnicks

Sorry to hear you never received your books! We're afraid this was quite a few years ago and so the folks in charge of the competition have now left, but please feel free to mail [email protected] and we can see what we can do Flowers

Anyone else waiting for the Porg toy from the Mumsnet competition in January? If so, please remind me in a month to chase them again Grin - apparently there's a "supply chain problem".
