To think eating a whole tub of ice cream isn’t normal?

I don’t like the word normal but I couldn’t think of anything else.

Now I can have my piggy moments and binge.

We were talking about takeaways and a friend said she could easily and does eat an entire tub of ice cream with her dominos pizza.

Do other people do this?

Ah fond memories of friend and I, tub of Hagen daz each, Four Weddings or similar film, Sunday afternoon post Sat night clubbing, weekly. We're both still alive.

Haint · 02/03/2018 20:51

THing is with a tub of Ben and Jerry’s is that it just gets better the further you go. The lovely melty meltedness just slips down so easily and before you know it...bam it’s gone

ChickenVindaloo2 · 02/03/2018 20:53

Having watched Life&Death Row this week, it seems a lot of murderers eat 1-2 pints of ice-cream with their final meal.

Make of that what you will!

SpareASquare · 02/03/2018 20:55

Can easily eat a tub of Ben & Jerry's. Cookie dough is my go to.
Not sure I could do it after pizza though but someone else doing it wouldn't register. Especially a friend.

So, I could eat pizza. And I could eat a tub of ice cream. It would probably take me two sittings. Someone else may be able to do it is one. We've both had the same amount. Big deal.

CaptainBrickbeard · 02/03/2018 20:56

I can and I have but it is a binge and I wouldn’t be enjoying it after about half. Then I’d be ill afterwards. When I’ve done it, it’s been compulsive rather than a fun treat.

RainbowGlitterFairy · 02/03/2018 20:57

I can eat a dominoes, garlic pizza and a tub of ice cream, I don't anymore because I strongly suspect that may be why I am so very fat, but yeah, it used to happen a lot.

DuckAndPancakes · 02/03/2018 20:59

I can’t even think about eating ice cream in this weather. I can and will, however, eat an entire apple strudel with a whole can of custard. No problems. I like warm and cuddly comfort foods when it comes to cramming my face.

This week has been bread heavy because it’s so cold.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 02/03/2018 21:00

I couldn’t and I wouldn’t want to either Confused I would definitely think someone had a problem with food if they did this on a regular basis.

SadieHH · 02/03/2018 21:00

Has anyone mentioned their bricklayer DH beng stuffed on two whole fishfingers yet or am I early?

Branleuse · 02/03/2018 21:02

Id think it was pretty gross and gluttonous to eat an entire tub of icecream in one go

Oysterbabe · 02/03/2018 21:03

I can and have. Not something I would make a habit out of though. I can't remember the last time I did in fact. I can eat a rather disgusting amount of dominos too.

Champagneandthestars · 02/03/2018 21:03

I get bored of the actual ice cream bit 3/4 down and then just eat any of the choice bits (cookie dough, pralines etc) and leave the rest to DH. I've just had a baby and lost 3 stone (one more to go!) and now want to derail myself by eating pizza and Haagen Daz Sad. Anyway, have you never heard the phrase 'people who love to eat are the best people', I bet she's fun!

squarecorners · 02/03/2018 21:04

Not normal, and a bit sickly really. I have never been a big ice cream person even when I lived in a hot country but when I was pregnant my only two actual cravings were salt and vinegar squares and raspberry ripple ice cream. I literally stood next to the freezer in January in a house with no central heating and ate 6 screwballs in one go.

CaMePlaitPas · 02/03/2018 21:04

I could do it but probably not after an entire Domino's pizza.

MycatsaPirate · 02/03/2018 21:05

Not after a pizza, no!

But Asda do a Ben and Jerry's size tub of frozen yoghurt which his only something stupid like 270 cals for the whole carton. I can eat that in one go easily.

LaurenBrye · 02/03/2018 21:06

I disagree. I used to eat the half baked and by the end there was barely any cookie dough pieces left .. they were all at the top

Dalek I have an apple strudel in the freezer. I am willing to sell it to you for £453 as long as you can collect!

twinkledag · 02/03/2018 21:08

No, never done this.

DalekDalekDalek · 02/03/2018 21:08

MycatsaPirate Don't taunt me! Wink

derenstar · 02/03/2018 21:09

Horses for causes, I can’t do a whole tub, in fact it takes me months to finish a tub, seriously it’s one of the leading cause of marital rows in our household because DH thinks I’m weird - he is in the finish a tub and more camp. However, I could probably eat my body weight in cheese any given day. I am missing the off switch for too much cheese and wine from my DNA Blush

legaladvicepls · 02/03/2018 21:09

Could easily eat a tub of Ben and Jerrys in one sitting although maybe not straight after a pizza. I'd give it a go though!

Your comment about it being every week made me giggle. So fucking what life is too short isn't it. I'd rather eat pizza and icecream once a week and be judged on the internet by a "friend" than live a miserable joyless but exclusively healthy lifestyle.

DuckAndPancakes · 02/03/2018 21:10

Sorry Dalek!

We used to always have one in the freezer but I had to put a stop to it as I had no self control. DP and I shared one earlier in the week though.

I’m currently waiting on a kebab and onion rings to be delivered and hoping they can get here through the snow. This cold weather has shit all over my healthy eating. I neeeeee trash.

Mimsy123 · 02/03/2018 21:11

No, and especially in this weather.

MasonJar · 02/03/2018 21:12

I occasionally eat a whole tub of Haagen Daz vanilla ice cream. Perfectly normal IMHO.
Best on an empty stomach instead of a meal for me though, then I can really enjoy it, never feel sick afterwards.
I'm not overweight and eat fairly healthily most of the time.
