To think eating a whole tub of ice cream isn’t normal?

I don’t like the word normal but I couldn’t think of anything else.

Now I can have my piggy moments and binge.

We were talking about takeaways and a friend said she could easily and does eat an entire tub of ice cream with her dominos pizza.

Do other people do this?

When I mean eating socially, I am not referring to the occasional meal out, but the normal meals people have on a daily basis. Stopping to eat and catch up for a normal meal with friends and family usually results in eating at a slower pace thus less likely to overeat.

I agree with you, basically, on what is a healthy diet. The poster I was referring to,(sorry, was it you?) spoke of a "healthy" appetite, which is something very different. They were trying to infer that not eating all of ones starter, main and dessert when going out demonstrated a less than healthy appetite, and that eating an entire fast food pizza and tub of ice cream was a healthy appetite.

It is interesting that subsequent comments after stating eating this way demonstrates a normal appetite usually infer that if one does not think that eating in such a manner is normal means that those posters are actively restricting their diets and cannot "cope" with eating in such a manner.

It's because people cant control themselves, the Government are interfering and meddling with our food and adding taxes.

Are you talking about me ...I am actually on a Ben and jerries detox BlushConfused I've always had one on occasion (perhaps monthly) however recently I've been really stressed and my way of dealing with it is through binge eating, Ben and jerries I had been having 2/3 tubs a week in one tub sittings and quite frankly I am disgusted with myself!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 07/03/2018 15:15

It's not really something to get angry and aggressive about because some people can eat more than you. I'm surprised that people who can only eat tiny amounts yeah right don't know that others can eat more. I guess they always dine alone.

But being passive aggressive is okay?

Spouting on about respecting the differences and 'not getting aggressive' then in your next post eye-rolling at 'tiny amounts' and a bit more passive aggression for good measure doesn't half undermine your point.

There's a 1000 calories in some sandwich meal deals (and a lot of sugar/fat) but I can't imagine people getting so disgusted / angry with someone eating a chicken sandwich with juice and crisps somehow...

blastomama · 08/03/2018 23:47

That's an entire meal. How is that even slightly similar?

Also, who's angry? Confused

puglife15 · 09/03/2018 20:30

Yes it is a meal but the point I'm making is that many posters seem disgusted/sickened by someone ingesting that number of calories & fat in one go, saying it's horribly greedy and deeply unpleasant.

I'm assuming many people would potentially eat it as/instead of a meal or at least after a light meal. Certainly when I used to do it I had it instead of dinner.

blackeyes72 · 09/03/2018 20:34

I did it in my student days. There is no way I could do it now though, I would be very sick

FallenforTom · 09/03/2018 20:34

Because it isn't a meal. It's eating half a litre of frozen cream and sugar in one go.
No-one would ever describe that as a meal or a replacement for a meal.

I don't think thats accurate but its not at all the same and you can't compare eating a sandwich at lunch time to eating an entire large ice cream after an entire large pizza!

SmallBlondeMama · 09/03/2018 20:40

2 scoops max! And I LOVE ice cream. I could def crush an entire bag of chips though.
