Currently at center parcs in whinfell, Cumbria... supposed to be packed up and ready to leave by 10am tomorrow. We've got to get to Newcastle but major roads across have been closed today and there are statements advising only absolutely essential journeys.

Ive got a two year old and two month old and feel absolutely sick at the thought of them being on the roads in this weather.

According to the manager we have to be out because they are "fully booked" this weekend and need to prepare for the weekend guests. I completely understand but genuinely dont know what we'll do if roads are closed and we get stranded. Already tried to book into Travelodge and premier inn in penrith but seems everyone else has the same idea as no room!

Probably more of a rant than an aibu as i suppose we're not the responsibility of center parcs so in that respect i am being a bit unreasonable..

Glad CP have made a sensible decision. I've always found them must accommodating even though others question their CS.

Now get ye down to the sub tropical paradise - garunteed warmth Grin

Not had chance to come back before now as been waiting to hear and trying to make plans!

CP have been amazing, putting us up for the night (and the weekend if we need it!). So i dont have to travel with my babies!

Thank you to all those who have commented-just to clarify, when i said i would share with another family i meant a family that were in the same situation as us, not newly arriving guests!

There are quite a few of us who the cp staff have actually advised not to travel and they have allocated accomodation to all those for which travel would be unsafe.

Pluckedpencil · 02/03/2018 16:19

Glad to hear it as frankly anything else would be callous.

snewsname · 02/03/2018 16:29

Hopefully it will be free or at a discount?

Mammyloveswine · 02/03/2018 16:41

Really can't fault the staff at all! Customer service at its finest!

Great news. I am also glad it is free of charge as well, plenty of people wouldn't be able to stump up CP prices unexpectedly.

BoomBoomsCousin · 02/03/2018 18:44

That’s great Mammy. Hope you can enjoy the enforced, extended stay.

missymayhemsmum · 02/03/2018 18:52

Great news. Make sure you have told the manager all mumsnet knows how good he is!
