What are your thoughts about this?

Half pints are annoying, you have to queue up twice as often. Why are you even asking?

TheBakeryQueen · 01/03/2018 12:09

You're overthinking.

GrannyGrissle · 01/03/2018 12:09

The best bet is to order two half pints at a time, you get your desired drink in your desired quantity and date gets to see you as a delicate little thing but knows the score.

purplelass · 01/03/2018 12:10

How the flip are we supposed to know what you want to drink???

Ask yourself this - 'what would I like to drink?'
Then order it...

Cath2907 · 01/03/2018 12:10

Order what you want!! I'd happily order a pint on a first date.

PinkSquash · 01/03/2018 12:10

If you're in a pub order whatever you usually drink, if the person you're with doesn't like it, you've found out sooner than later that they're a tosser

Sudafed73 · 01/03/2018 12:10

I dont understand your thread... you dont care what he thinks, you met at a beer festival and you think he likes girls drinking beer.. but you started a thread cause you cared what strangers think about it...?? Hmm

chatwoo · 01/03/2018 12:10

Get what you like. There's no point in pretending you only like prosecco, when you actually would prefer a dark ale! If the guy has a problem with this, then it's time to move on.

NotSoSprightly · 01/03/2018 12:11

Oh I feel you OP!

I only drink beer and Guinness really and always think Argh, I hope he doesn't think I'm butch!

MichaelBendfaster · 01/03/2018 12:12

Glass of white wine for the lady, surely? Grin

Who cares? Get what you want.

kyrenialady · 01/03/2018 12:12

I had half a stella on our first date 18 years ago. I'd draw the line at a pint though on a first date.

SnibbleAgain · 01/03/2018 12:13

If you met at a beer festival I would be a bit surprised if he had any negative reaction whatsoever to you drinking beer!

Guinness is stout though isn't it?

Drink whatever you fancy :)

Jog22 · 01/03/2018 12:14

It's 2018 by the way. You appear to have travelled back in time for your date.

MephistophelesApprentice · 01/03/2018 12:14

Girlfriend had a pint on our first date, and I ordered ordered vodka and apple juice.

We've been together 7 years now.

SnibbleAgain · 01/03/2018 12:14

"The best bet is to order two half pints at a time, you get your desired drink in your desired quantity and date gets to see you as a delicate little thing but knows the score."

I wish I was on phone so I could quickly paste 30 crying laughing emoticons

This is awesome Grin

blueskyinmarch · 01/03/2018 12:15

If you get a half pint it will be gone in 2 gulps then you will have to go back to the bar for another. Just get a pint and be done with it.

Evelynismycatsformerspyname · 01/03/2018 12:15

Its a pretty good filter - if he has a problem with it he isn't worth a second date anyway.

I used to drink pints as a student, and the one man who insisted on bringing me halves because I was female when it was his round was indeed a waste of oxygen, though I was young and it took me a few months to see it.

Girls should not drink beer.

Beer is a drink for over 18s.

PollyMolly1234 · 01/03/2018 12:16

Oh ffs

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2018 12:17

Are you sure your lady hands will be able to pick up a a pint glass? Wink

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 01/03/2018 12:17

Dh used to comment when I ordered a pint. He's not perfect but almost 7 years later I would say that he has responded well to an intensive training program!

Lweji · 01/03/2018 12:17

If you met at a beer fest and are over 18, then that ship has sailed.

Drink what you feel like.

Dahlietta · 01/03/2018 12:17

also don’t really care what he thinks
Yes, obviously...!
