What are your thoughts about this?

It wouldn't be worth commenting on.

Mari50 · 01/03/2018 12:04

Haha I ordered a pint of beer on a recent first date. It’s a good litmus test actually. If a bloke even had an opinion on the drink I ordered he could get to fuck.

Tippz · 01/03/2018 12:04

YANBU. That is AWFUL. Hmm Little lady should have had a glass of perrier, or a sherry.

And I hope she wore a nice skirt and blouse, and looked pretty, and kept fucking quiet while the intelligent man spoke and gave her tips on how to be a better woman. She better be able to cook, and if not, his mother will teach her. And he probably told her lots of things she didn't know coz she is a woman and is obviously thicker than him.

Jesus wept! Hmm

Seriously OP, any man that looked down on me coz I had a beer, can fuck the fuck off. Hmm

Why the annoyed smiley by the way, at people calling you a girl? You called it yourself in your opening post!!!

Deshasafraisy · 01/03/2018 12:05

Be yourself polly, if you want a pint then have a pint, if he doesn’t like this then he’s not the man for you.

TossDaily · 01/03/2018 12:05

Have a pint.

If he mentions it, objects or raises an eyebrow you know not to see him again.

A useful twat-filter, if you will.

purplelass · 01/03/2018 12:06

I don't drink beer, I drink cider.
On my first date with my bloke I ordered a pint, because that's what i drink.
Have whatever you usually have, if it puts him off then that's his problem, and would you want to be with someone who had a problem with what you drink?
Would make it difficult on subsequent dates, at what point do you make the change to what you'd usually have? Why make things confusing???

LonginesPrime · 01/03/2018 12:06

I after with Toss.

Why would you want to date someone who cares about that??

Frogletmamma · 01/03/2018 12:06

Get yourself a piffle snonker and say to hell with it!

T2517 · 01/03/2018 12:06

Get a bottled beer if you’re that unsure of sizes? I’d go for a pint personally

happinessischocolate · 01/03/2018 12:06

I went on a date once and ordered a pint of cider, the bloke ordered a coke, the barman poured the pint and then poured a small glass of coke and then proceeded to decorate the coke with cocktail umbrellas and numerous straws 😂

The bloke didn't find it funny and we didn't have a 2nd date 😂😂😂😂😂

LonginesPrime · 01/03/2018 12:06

*agree

WheresTheEvidence · 01/03/2018 12:06

Drink what you like in what glass you like in what size you like.

Honest to god sometimes I Hmm at people who ask questions like this or should I do the washing up I have no cups.

HollyBayTree · 01/03/2018 12:06

A 'girl' is a generic term everyone in the real world - except MN - uses. Said no one ever 'Im off out on a wimmins night out' or 'Im having a wimminy night in with pizza and film' or 'DD and I are having a wimminish spa day'.

Do we have to have this snidy petulant bitching every time?

PollyMolly1234 · 01/03/2018 12:07

I have no problem with it and I think he likes it - we met at a beer fest! Ok what should I go for then?! I’m thinking Guinness

OP posts:
Fekko · 01/03/2018 12:07

Pint of beer - fine
Pint of gin - not fine

Birdsgottafly · 01/03/2018 12:07

I'd order what I would normally, when I don't want to get tipsy.

Best to not waste any time on someone who would judge you for being you.

PollyMolly1234 · 01/03/2018 12:08

I drink anything btw so it’s not a case of beer only!

OP posts:
GrockleBocs · 01/03/2018 12:08

DH and I were drinking pints together on our first date.

blackteasplease · 01/03/2018 12:08

Just order what you would usually order and don't give it a second thought.

Anyone who judges you on this is not worth knowing.

Just make sure you buy your round! Grin

Shen0102 · 01/03/2018 12:08

Get the beer and go for half pint.

FittonTower · 01/03/2018 12:08

I'd had about 8 pints when i met my husband. I like to think he was impressed......

BadlyParkedRangeRover · 01/03/2018 12:08

OP, beer is fine. Fashions have also changed since you time travelled from the 50s. Rationing is no longer a thing. Sexism exists but is less blatant. HTH.

Awrite · 01/03/2018 12:08

Beer was always my preferred drink on dates. Bottled though so I wouldn't get too drunk.

HollyBayTree · 01/03/2018 12:09

Back to the OP - where is your first date - pint in a pub, fine ... pint in a nice little restaurant, not so fine.

FittonTower · 01/03/2018 12:09

And then i beat him soundly at table football and did a victory dance.
Do that.
