Those who research your previous threads on mumsnet so that they can have ammunition to slag you off? Weird and stalkerish.

OP posts:
MrsMaxwell · 26/02/2018 22:24

Who the fuck has time to keep a spreadsheet tracking people’s posts here?

That’s just tragically sad and they should gonabd volunteer their time for something more worthwhile!

SpareASquare · 26/02/2018 22:39

Meh. I like it.
Has saved me wasting my time on many a post.
Totally see why some certain posters don't like it.

MaisyPops · 26/02/2018 22:44

I liked having the ability to AS on some school threads after there was a few weeks recently where there were lots of 'toilet' threads and girls on their period threads.
It gives me the creeps that some people genuinely want to start threads hoping for leaks/accdient stories.
I report any thread I see about those topcis when the poster is new(ish)

Charismatictac · 26/02/2018 22:47

Well, I agree, when I read a poster saying something like 'well 18 months ago you had a six month old girl and now you have a 2 year old boy, how can that be, huh?'' I think ofgs, poster changed details to avoid being too identifiable perhaps and there are novels I want to finish, I can't get invested in to reading old posts

pastabest · 26/02/2018 22:50

MrsMaxwell MN was a lot smaller back then.

It was a bit of a joke I think rather than anything anyone took particularly seriously iirc.

MrsMaxwell · 26/02/2018 22:50

When it gets acuseatory it’s shit - esp when the poster is genuine.

“well op is you DH still doing fuck all for his kids” when he’s actually driving 1200 miles EOW to see them.

MrsMaxwell · 26/02/2018 22:57

Also posters do not always want to go into every single detail of their life which might not be relevant on every thread.

That’s not drip feeding it’s asking for support/a rant without divulging all the minute details of their day to day life/life history.

SersioulycanitgetWORSE · 26/02/2018 22:58

Not read thread but yes awful

britneysshavedhead · 26/02/2018 23:01

It's happened to me before. I've NC since then . But I was ripped to shreds over a post I'd made a few months ago and a couple of people went into my post history and started a bully - esque verbal attack.
Made me very upset at the time. Silly I know.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/02/2018 23:05

Should I be remotely interested. I wouldn't even know how to do an advanced search. Blush

MrsMaxwell · 26/02/2018 23:09

britneysshavedhead

Me too and the thread was deleted after the posts bringing up past posts were.

It is not ok to bring opinionated judgements about past posts onto other threads.

It’s a shitty thing to do to someone who is a RP.

catfishsally · 26/02/2018 23:36

yes it is weird. People who want to have control on the net often don't have control in their own lives and are bullied. hurt people hurt people.
The people who go alone with the bullying person are the problem because they entertain the stalking

Zoflorabore · 26/02/2018 23:37

Been here almost 4 years and I don't even know how to do an advanced search Grin

Battleax · 26/02/2018 23:48

yes it is weird. People who want to have control on the net often don't have control in their own lives and are bullied. hurt people hurt people.

You get all that from someone remembering or checking something?!

I can’t say I AS much but I might from now on just to defy the hysterics Grin

paxillin · 26/02/2018 23:53

I sometimes AS just because I am nosy. I have no wish to control the internet.

Thistlebelle · 26/02/2018 23:56

You think people AS because they want to “control the net”? Confused

That’s an... interesting perspective... Hmm

ChaosNeverRains · 26/02/2018 23:56

Haven’t searched OP’s username but I did see the thread she started that this is about. Previous posts were very much relevant in that case.....

The spreadsheets of old were posted as a joke and people took it seriously.

Advance search takes about 25 seconds. I haven’t done it regularly but I have e.g. done it if a thread has made me Hmm and been wanting to report I will sometimes look to see if an OP has a posting history but won’t necessarily read the threads/posts.

paxillin · 26/02/2018 23:58

And I couldn't find your menopause, @Katedotness1963, sorry.

paxillin · 26/02/2018 23:59

Oh, this is a TAAT after all? I'll go to bed.

HoneyDragon · 26/02/2018 23:59

I’d like to control the net. I’d be a benevolent dictator.

paxillin · 27/02/2018 00:04

BenevolentDictator would be a good username.

BenevolentDictator · 27/02/2018 00:06

Yes, it would be.

HoneyDragon · 27/02/2018 00:06

Suits you dear

paxillin · 27/02/2018 00:08

Socking! Muuuuum HQ!

AbsolutelyNotHoneydragon · 27/02/2018 00:09

Sock puppetry where?! How awful.
