Then 'women with penises' (😆) can keep to their penis-only space, whilst nobody is suggesting any gender for them other than what they wish to be.

I think the reason this idea is offending some is because some trans people might not want to publicly disclose what their genitals are, and not should they be made to do so.

However I don't expect you are proposing there is someone inside each cubicle checking that people have entered the right one, so really it's the same as having unisex individual cubicles and can't in any way be policed. No-one is going to demand someone lifts up their skirt to prove they have a vagina, are they?

It's a shame that the "identity as" thing is making life extremely difficult for genuine trans folk who just want to get on with heir life. There must be a way of seeping out the small proportion of dangerous people from the vast majority of others.

I have a daughter who does a contact sport. She plays against other females who are twice her size but that's the rules and that's fair. If, say, someone like Hannah Mouncey moves from Australia to play against her, I'd be happy to Point out the utter injustice of the situation. So sport is a real concern.

I agree sport is a concern. I also don't think men should be able to claim they identify as female and then be able to access female spaces etc. But in my opinion and from what I've seen and heard a lot of people are using these reasons to tar the whole of the trans community with the same brush.

The vast majority of male to female trans haven't done it to stare at your vulva.

Re xx and xy what about people whose chromosomes don't conform to that (disorders of sex development/intersex) - quite a few different disorders... Do they just have to use a disabled loo or what? Or go to a loo closest to what their chromosomes make them?

I would use XX and XY, to keep the fake vaginas out of the toilets reserved for people with vaginas that can be used to deliver babies through, and which need to be smear tested every so often.

So someone who has had a total hysterectomy including the cervix would have to go in XY then.

Oh and meant to add. I don’t think we should be proving what parts we possess in order to be allowed to enter a segregated space, rather it should be assumed that (as now) people will be reasonable and choose the correct space for their body. But gives power to evict and ban those who clearly have entered the wrong space. I.e if I see a penis in my safe space, I can demand its possessor leaves.

At a camp site in France that I stayed in about 20 years ago, there was just the one toilet block; no messing about with separate facilities for men and women, they all used the same facilities. There was a bank of urinals (which were partially screened from the main area where the cubicles were) and loads of toilet cubicles and shower cubicles.

I was a bit taken aback at first but soon got used to it and could see the sense of it. I've thought, ever since then, that places like theatres, cinemas, shopping centres etc should use this sort of set-up.
