To be completely obsessed with Rightmove?

Sandinplaces · 21/02/2018 00:34

So I'm obsessed with it. I work agency night shifts and I need to prove my wages for at least a year before I can be considered for a mortgage with DH. He's got a great job but could only get a mortgage of £140k max on his own.

So on my breaks at night at work I just look at houses! It's pathetic but I love it!

So wibu to ask you to indulge me and share your fave rightmove houses?

I love the houses that people just don't give a shit about. Like they must have known someone was coming to take a photo but no fucks given or the really weird lay out/ odd decor. I love them all!!

I like this one; the bar especially Wink and the ensuite where you could definitely not have a shit!

If you like the 'photographed from the bath' look, you will enjoy this site...terriblerealestateagentphotos.com/
The captions are comedy gold.

I like the photos taken by a ghost hovering in the very top most corner of a room somehow, often "above" the corner of the shower cubicle.

The building next to Lemonysnickets Methodist chapel is for sale at the moment Wink

There's some absolute horrors on here... the ones that are really cluttered, I can't begin to imagine what they'll look like when the crap clutter is taken out. A mess!

A few years ago, someone posted a link to a house where everyone was making not good comments, and the owner came on, she was absolutely furious, seriously spitting mad! And I'll never forget Alesha Dixon's house that was on rightmove. Purple everywhere. No wall, furniture or anything that wasn't purple. An absolute monstrosity of colour. I was so surprised because I love how she dresses.

Sandinplaces · 21/02/2018 18:23

@StephiD3 that's amazing it has a suit of armour!!

Luggala... One of the features is 'parking'

Its 28 fucking million euros!!!

PickAChew · 21/02/2018 18:48

This house fascinated me for years, when I passed it, on the bus. Went up for sale, last month and the interior doesn't do it for me but I was glad to have my curiosity satisfied. Would have loved to have seen what it was like before being blinged up because, if the cow is anything to go by, it was probably pretty bonkers.

Mousehole is, I think, one of the more expensive parts of Cornwall.

TurquoiseDress · 22/02/2018 19:47

YANBU at all!

I love Rightmove! and I look at it practically every day, got the app and my account is full of realistic stuff for us as well as the outrageous homes that we will never be able to afford Blush unless we win the lottery.

We recently moved into a new rented flat, further out into suburban London, but are hoping to buy something in the spring/summer depending on what we can afford/proximity to LO's school.

Rightmove is basically me dreaming with a huge dollop of brutal realism at the fact we can barely afford anything more than a 2 bed shoebox in SE London Grin

TurquoiseDress · 22/02/2018 19:52

ooooh I love that Fifth avenue New York one!

frumpety · 22/02/2018 20:02

Dear as in expensive or dear as in lovely Cracker ? It is , with a prevailing wind , spitting distance from the beach and sea Wink

I spent a fair bit of time, last summer, admiring it and the fact that it has parking, anyone who has spent a holiday in Mousehole will know where I am coming from Smile

windchimesabotage · 22/02/2018 20:21

YANBU I now know what the interior of most houses in my street look like. As a very nosy person this has made me very happy. Number 12 has amazing flamingo wallpaper in their bathroom.

AutumnalTed · 22/02/2018 20:25

Didn’t even know I enjoyed this until this thread, I wonder if any mumsnetters that are selling will be on this thread Wink

MisterFlibblesDoesNotApprove · 24/02/2018 00:15

I live just up the road from Mousehole and it is indeed the most glorious place.

This could be an interesting proposal

My hobby is to go to seaside towns on Rightmove, find a nice house then go straight to street view. Then I try and find my way to the sea from the house, without looking at the map. I've spend many, many hours of my life doing this. I always get there in the end.

frumpety · 24/02/2018 07:53

Mister very jealous that you live down there , looking forward to my next visit already . We always have to visit in the school holidays , I bet it is even nicer out of peak season Smile
