Does anybody else get annoyed with the amount of repeating items from the Olympics on the bbc? Christie was disqualified and they have showed the interview with her several times when there are other interesting sports they can be showing. They have been discussing it with a friend of hers and now another member of the fb team. They seem to just be focusing on GB I was waiting to watch the bobsleigh. AIBU?

Ok it's irritating. But the level of coverage directed at her is hardly her fault. Neither is the format of the coverage the fault of Claire Balding. The dragging on of that poor girl to offer her insight into the slopestyle (?) wasn't her fault either. It's an editorial decision surely.

Was it only a few short years ago everyone thought Balding was the best thing ever? How times change.

There has been some real bitching going in certain websites (not here) about the fact that the anchor team in Salford has at times been all female too. Seems like certain traditionalists still don't want women playing a leading role in sports coverage.

I think Cram has done an ok job on the curling myself, speaking as someone who knows next to nothing about curling like almost everyone.

Depends if you count Wilf O'Reilly golds in 1988

Still 30 years ago though.

The whole point of the Olympics is all the back stories, explaining rules of lesser known sports so yabu. Also being a mother is worthy of mention because it physically takes its toll on your body.
I'm enjoying the coverage and recording it then skipping through the bits I don't want to watch or are repeated

As a family we're really enjoying it. It's probably the first time we've watched so much winter Olympics and dd is very inspired by all the amazing sportswomen in particular from GB and around the world. I agree some more technical explanations of the half pipe tricks would be interesting but all in all I think considering the time difference and the fact Clare Balding is anchoring it from the UK, we're getting to see lots of the action. Having tried to watch sport in other countries, I think the BBC do a pretty good job.
