George and Michael? Or is it just me that BU. it's a bit... strange & funny.

OP posts:

Oldman "It's already a forgotten memory for this generation."

which generation? I was passing by the green patch in Highgate at the weekend, it's busy with people of all ages. Actually, it's not green now - the grass has worn away.

Definitely a bizarre name combo. I wonder how many people jump out of their skin now when they hear someone shouting "George! Michael!" - and then look over their shoulder Grin

chocolateworshipper · 21/02/2018 18:16

Better than Wallace and Gromit I suppose

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 21/02/2018 18:18

Or bill and Ben

WalnutChiefWhip · 21/02/2018 18:27

Is Michael making a comeback as a boys' name, then? [misses the point]

mnahmnah · 21/02/2018 18:29

When my friend was on the maternity ward, the lady next to her called her twin boys Ant and Dec....

olbndansmummy · 21/02/2018 18:30

I know of brothers called bill and ted!!

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 21/02/2018 18:30

Excellent

MissionItsPossible · 21/02/2018 18:30

Why didn't/doesn't she just shout Michael! George instead? Also confused by the poster who said people smirk when they hear their son's middle names 'George Michael' - how rude can you get? Although I admit I once laughed when I saw a customers name: Ronald McDonald.

rothbury · 21/02/2018 18:37

But to call your identical twin boys them is just really stupid.

Wow you really like your sister don't you?

YABU - I suspect most people wouldn't even register it, and even if they do, so what?

Tangofandango · 21/02/2018 18:37

If she'd had a boy and girl they could've been George and Mildred!

I know someone (born 1970 so long before Wham) named George Michael *

Lovemusic33 · 21/02/2018 18:41

I know someone who called their twins George and Michael. There are probably quite a few out there.

kaitlinktm · 21/02/2018 18:48

If she'd had a boy and girl they could've been George and Mildred!

That's how I read the OP originally. Blush

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 21/02/2018 18:50

DS has twin friends called Florence and Fred.

Andylion · 21/02/2018 18:50

cjt110, Sela Ward is an actress who was in the show Sisters.

Zaphodsotherhead · 21/02/2018 18:52

yawny As long as it isn't Cannon and Ball...

cheminotte · 21/02/2018 18:55

I knew someone with boys called Jamie and Oliver.

pepperpot99 · 21/02/2018 19:02

Mine are called Benson and Hedges.

Theweasleytwins · 21/02/2018 19:13

My twins are called Fred and George 😋

Harry Frederick
Georgina Lilly

Named after Harry Potter characters😬

CharisMater · 21/02/2018 19:39

If she says Michael and George it'll be better!

Crazyunicornlady · 21/02/2018 19:41

George and Michael is silly but Michael and George is fine - did I really just read that??

user1467313952 · 21/02/2018 19:42

I know a family who have twins called Jack & Daniel 🤣

tink09 · 21/02/2018 19:50

My poor DP is George with Michael as a middle name. He was born in the 80’s so has spent his entire life with the wham/GM jokes. It still makes me laugh when we have to use his full nameGrin

fortunacookie · 21/02/2018 19:57

I know someone whose just named her twin boys Ronnie and Reggie Shock

Peekaboo3 · 21/02/2018 20:06

Do people seriously call their twins Ronnie and Reggie? Confused

Tippz · 21/02/2018 20:07

@WowIFreelStrange

If she was calling them Iggy and Pop I could understand your issue, but George and Michael are both nice names.

Plus the singer/songwriter George Michael, was a fucking AWESOME man with great talent, and a great loss to the music world. 😢

Saying your sister is stupid for calling them this is nasty as fuck.

Are you jealous of her? You sound it. Hmm
