Not to wear knickers in bed?

Vulpius · 20/02/2018 10:56

Not a thread about a thread, as such, but I was very struck by someone on another thread talking about her old bed kickers (as in knickers she wears in bed, not as in knickers worn by her bed). I would have thought it was thoroughly unreasonable to wear knickers of any description in bed (unless they are the type that leads to Things), but AIBU?

To everyone that doesn't wear anything on their bottom half when in bed, what would you do if you you had to leave your house during the night because there was a fire?

stealthbanana · 20/02/2018 17:42

meandmy eh? I’d either a) grab a dressing gown on my way out or, if that wasn’t possible b) run out into the street naked. And to anticipate your follow up question, if it was b), no I wouldn’t be embarrassed; I’d be too preoccupied by the fact my house was a towering inferno to worry about clothing. (Am sure a kindly neighbour would drape a blanket around me to preserve my modesty anyway.)

OutyMcOutface · 20/02/2018 17:46

I never do-that's a recipe for yeast infections. It's bad enough to wear tightly fitted clothing during the day but at least you can give your garden the opportunity to breathe a little at night.

OutyMcOutface · 20/02/2018 17:48

@meandmytinfoilhat surely you would just run out the street-if you are wearing a nightgown no one will be the wiser. If you sleep starkers-well, the heat from the fire will help you stay warm Wink

bluepears · 20/02/2018 17:50

ybu toask a question about this you can wear or not wear whatever you like

Vulpius · 20/02/2018 17:51

Oh God, the 'need a pee, but unable to find a loo' dreams. I know them well.

Knickers. Pyjamas. Socks. Dressing gown. That's until May when I lose the dressing gown and socks.

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:01

y if you go commando what happens when you sit down? Don't you wet your dress?

I do wipe after a wee so no, no wetness! I have bum cheeks, le fanjo doesn't touch the seat, it's tucked away nicely imo. I don't only lie on my back either. I tend to sleep in recovery position or on my back, so no parts touch the mattress or duvet. Even if they did, it's my bed and it all gets washed weekly so doesn't bother me.

Mollieben · 20/02/2018 18:03

I have some comfy knickers for bed - I wouldn't want my arse hanging out at night in case there was a burgler Grin I usually wear a strappy nighty - I feel too hot in pj's

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:03

I have only been commando in a jersey, knee length pencil dress so there was no danger of flashing!

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:04

Oh and I do wear knickers on first couple of days of my period and I hate it!

MrsKoala · 20/02/2018 18:12

Grin MsHarry - i didn't mean flashing, i meant leaving wet patches! I did it once wearing a turquoise fitted dress and when i stood up i had a huge wet patch Shock I think the knickerless ones are the less, umm, exuding types, and the ones who wear pants may need a bit more gusset protection. Now if i wear a dress like that i wear cycling style shorts.

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:14

I did answer the wet question koala and the dress in question was black anyway!

MrsKoala · 20/02/2018 18:16

The wetness isn't from wee! Confused If i sit down my bits touch the seat i'm sitting on. Am i a freak?! Is that not normal?

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:18

HA HA HA my bum hits the best first unless i spread my legs and tilt forwards. Are you some kind of contortionist koala?

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:18

seat not best

MrsKoala · 20/02/2018 18:18

Sorry missed your post. But it dries white doesn't it? Not great on a black dress.

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:19

I'm obviously not a juicy as you !! Blush

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:20

I do have ample bottamage so bit like sitting on a cushion. Grin

MrsKoala · 20/02/2018 18:22

Well i thought i was normal till this thread! is it up straight and can defo feel the seat on my front parts. And even if i couldn't it trickles down your bum crack and tickles and itches. Sorry - i know this is far tmi but i am now thinking my body is odd!

MsHarry · 20/02/2018 18:23

No trickling here!

MrsKoala · 20/02/2018 18:25

I'm defo not lacking in the derriere dept either!

This is like those threads about why do women use pant liners and half are saying it's all marketing and unnecessary and the other half are saying their clothes would be soaked without them. Grin

Meandmy4 · 20/02/2018 18:25

chips & Chocola crying at piss and cod oil 😂😂😂

I Never wear knickers any time ! Hate them also hate bras .. flinging it off straight after walk through front door !

skippykips · 20/02/2018 18:27

@FissionChips Im like that! I have to wear knickers in bed otherwise I feel lime I will wee myself!

Also, socks! If I don't wear bed socks then the monster underneath the bed will come and grab my feet!

No I am not a 4 year old! But if I do not wear socks I genuinely feel unsafe!

I now feel like I should award myself my very first Biscuit

EggysMom · 20/02/2018 18:33

I'm in the "no knickers" team - unless it's TOTM or I'm staying away from home. But I have to wear a long-sleeved nightshirt, I can't sleep in short-sleeved or sleeveless now as I find my arms get too cold!

Those who wear knickers, presumably you don't if you and your better half are planning some shenanigans ... but what about solo shenanigans?
