Not to wear knickers in bed?

Vulpius · 20/02/2018 10:56

Not a thread about a thread, as such, but I was very struck by someone on another thread talking about her old bed kickers (as in knickers she wears in bed, not as in knickers worn by her bed). I would have thought it was thoroughly unreasonable to wear knickers of any description in bed (unless they are the type that leads to Things), but AIBU?

Always good to let the air in about 😂

starlight13 · 21/02/2018 17:33

No pants but always a non wired bra - stops getting saggy boobs.

Banana2621 · 21/02/2018 17:33

OMG I am crying with laughter at some of these responses. I'm a t-shirt and cotton lounge pants kinda girl. When I was 22 I had stepsons staying and then living with permanently. They used to come in at night to see their dad. They did not need full view of me! It's stuck now I'm into my 40's!

Definitely no knickers in bed unless it’s the time of the month. Being bum-free is marvellous

Vulpius · 21/02/2018 17:36

Now, socks are another matter, MrsKoala. I have previous form in the sock regard as mentioned somewhere else on this thread, though haven't worn them in bed for a while. I think the peri-menopause has heated my feet up.

Iprefer, I agree re. wearing something light when it's hot.

Janey, it's the other way round here. DP knows it's his lucky moment if I'm wearing knickers in bed. Grin

Haven't worn anything in bed for over thirty years! Even when its freezing outside. Knickers in bed creates a sweaty crotch and a breeding ground, not healthy - but if a partner was being tiresome etc I would review not wearing anything!

Vulpius · 21/02/2018 17:37

lalaroo, that is almost as bad as the spider under the ball-sack.

starlight13 - very funny response! Hate to disappoint but breasts are supported by ligaments and pregnancy will relax them, breast feeding or not makes no difference. Even if you never been pregnant, gravity heads south and all the bras in the bed (sweaty??) will not prevent this!

dwab45 · 21/02/2018 17:41

Too much information, or AIBU?Blush

susie199 · 21/02/2018 17:42

My Gran wore knickers to bed in case a fireman had to carry her down a ladder. She didn't want the neighbours to see.

ktp100 · 21/02/2018 17:43

I can't sleep without knickers on. Feels gross to me. Never had thrush in my life.

Paulbus68 · 21/02/2018 17:46

Well ‘Chowmum’ Aren’t you a barrel of laughs. The whole purpose of this thread is to discuss issues, and the only person doing any dictating is you in trying to tell Vulpius what she should and should not ask others about. I see that Vulpius has already put you in your place, so if you want to be a miserable cow go and do it somewhere else. You won’t be missed.

Figgygal · 21/02/2018 17:50

I can't consider NOT wearing pants to bed i hate being cold I can sleep without them it's so alien to me

2Earlgreysplease · 21/02/2018 18:00

OMG! I do wear knickers to bed, but have never really thought about the why's and wherefore of doing so, however now I know that I'm protecting my bed linen from fart particles, (or farticles as perhaps they should be known) I will continue!
My hubby doesn't wear pj's just cotton boxers, and sometimes goes commando, but from now on...........

DenPerry · 21/02/2018 18:05

I can't imagine not wearing knickers in bed. I need everything kept together! I love how different we all are.

kitchensinkmum · 21/02/2018 18:06

It's interesting how many folk either wear or don't wear knickers because their gran did the same. Wonder how many women don't actually wear knickers at all.
Personally I don't wear them to bed but have been know to wear socks, and joggers as house is sooo cold in winter.

Iamthegirlwho · 21/02/2018 18:09

I always wear pants and PJs in bed - I find I get a PJ wedgie if I don't wear pants. Though having said that I have not tried wearing no pants and just PJs in a very long time so its really just habit I guess. Actually I even wear just pants when its hot. So really I don't know... I also always wear a vest top as I find it uncomfortable without. Why I feel compelled to share this as my first comment ever on mumsnet I really couldn't tell you either - hmm maybe there's a thread for that!

DenPerry · 21/02/2018 18:15

I just can't believe there's so many people with their flaps and bellies swinging freely GrinLearn something new every day. I wouldn't want DP to sleep naked either, don't want to spoon his sweaty hairy bum and back! Wink

ArtieMae · 21/02/2018 18:22

I couldn’t imagine going to bed without knickers - what with normal feminine discharge and periods starting unexpectedly!

snowone · 21/02/2018 18:31

This post is funny Grin personally I wear cotton knickers to bed with a vest top on most occasions. If I decide to wear PJs then I don't. And sometimes when I'm feeling crazy I just sleep naked!! All depends on my mood! Grin

purplebunny2012 · 21/02/2018 18:33

If I'm wearing PJs, I'll wear PJ bottoms. If I'm wearing a vest, I'll wear shorts. If I'm wearing a short nightie, I'll wear shorts. If I'm wearing a long nightie, I'll wear nothing.

purplebunny2012 · 21/02/2018 18:35

Hubby sleeps naked all year round.

MsHarry · 21/02/2018 18:35

Normal feminine discharge doesn’t exist, it’s what is normal for you. Mine has never made it past the gates so to speak!Blush
