Not to wear knickers in bed?

Vulpius · 20/02/2018 10:56

Not a thread about a thread, as such, but I was very struck by someone on another thread talking about her old bed kickers (as in knickers she wears in bed, not as in knickers worn by her bed). I would have thought it was thoroughly unreasonable to wear knickers of any description in bed (unless they are the type that leads to Things), but AIBU?

Mine is full 70s or maybe even Victorian. I really cannot be arsed with shaving. As pp said the hairless area gets all sweaty, i also get a slight rash after a shave or wax, only for a few days but really! Is it worth it? Obvs not.
I suppose i do trim the length tho (when there's no paint to watch dry) so maybe only Edwardian. Laughing now at the thought of maybe giving it a little bouffant blow dry. I do have some tiny rollers...

MichaelBendfaster · 21/02/2018 10:12

A tangent about bed wear is why do they make pyjamas with strappy vests on the top and fleecey bottoms?

TBF PJ trousers are often light cotton, not fleecy.

MrsKoala · 21/02/2018 10:25

All mine are fleecey/felty, they are very very old tho and i do need some more. I bought what i thought were PJs the other day (floral long sleeved top and loose/mc hammer style trousers in a soft stretchy material) then realised they were meant to be going out of the house wear. They are very comfortable so i may get some more. Only for indoors tho.

Redpriestandmozart · 21/02/2018 10:34

oh bloody hell.. I made the statement on the other thread about my aging bed pants! So for the record, they're M&S Bridget Jones cotton 5 in a pack! The aforementioned knackered & old but ever so comfy pair are on their last legs and I am mourning the imminent passing :(

I'd never dream of this style in the daytime :)

MichaelBendfaster · 21/02/2018 10:48

I bought some recently and it's a vest top and light trousers combo. I do have heavier PJ trousers but they were all bought separately.

I do think though that PJ sellers peddle a rather unrealistic image of women floating about fetchingly in skimpy top and cute trousers. In reality it's more like galumphing about with unflattering flapping trouser legs and enormous canoe-like fleecy slippers, with a man's dressing gown on over the top because you're too cold or is that just me

MrsKoala · 21/02/2018 11:12

I never wear the pj tops that come with the bottoms. I have a drawer full of long sleeved stretchy tops from primark that I wear for bed. Lots have big holes cut out so I can bf while cosleeping without having to move much or get cold. I wear a zip up fleece over the top.

Now if THAT isn’t a sexy mental image then you are made of stone! Grin

(I have realised that with my description of dh’s balls in a string bag on the other thread and now my night wear that we are front runners for MN hottest couple of the year!)

RoseWhiteTips · 21/02/2018 11:15

I wear pyjama shorts. The detail some of you feel you have to divulge is pretty gross, incidentally.

Greggers2017 · 21/02/2018 11:21

My mammy always told us it was unhygienic to wear anything on the bottom half to bed. I always feel so dirty when I wake up the few times I have.

Vulpius · 21/02/2018 11:30

Redpriestandmozart , I salute you. This should be your thread, really.

I also trim the bush, just to keep it nice and tidy. Still blow-dry it, though.

MrsKoala, I am now going to have to find the balls in a string bag thread. The mind is boggling.

Ha, it’s from the bed pants thread that inspired this one I think.

MN's not for the faint-hearted, especially a knickers/fanjo thread. I think those of delicate sensibility should best avoid threads that stray towards the nether regions.

halfwitpicker · 21/02/2018 12:47

Best to stick to the tinned fruit thread, rosewhitetips, dear

RabbityMcRabbit · 21/02/2018 12:49

I can't sleep unless I wear knickers, especially after DTD. Hate it when you wake up and have a wet nether region Grin

I've never heard of people wearing knickers in bed. I'd hate that. Your foof needs to breathe.

RabbityMcRabbit · 21/02/2018 13:10

But cotton helps your foof to breathe Brian no?Smile

LakieLady · 21/02/2018 13:28

Nothing can help your foof breathe as effectively as exposure to fresh air, Rabbity!

MsHarry · 21/02/2018 13:30

Love the idea of an Edwardian bush. I’ve always had a fascination with Victorian circus performer handlebar moustaches. Do they sell bush wax?Confused

RabbityMcRabbit · 21/02/2018 13:44

You may well be correct Lakie, but I'd rather have my floof's air supply compromised than wake up in the night with an itchy wet one (I think Koala and I are on the same page here) sorry if tmi Smile

deadringer · 21/02/2018 13:44

I can't believe how many people on here breathe through their foof!

LakieLady · 21/02/2018 15:17

Better to breathe through one's foof than talk out of one's arse, deadringer. Grin

MrsKoala · 21/02/2018 16:22

I can't bear the thought of sleeping in socks. I always wake feeling nauseous. No matter how cold it is. I don't wear slippers either. Just crocs and bare feet round the house. My feet obviously need to 'breath' too.

Iprefercoffeetotea · 21/02/2018 16:26

I wear PJs but I don't wear knickers unless it's time of the month.

Can't imagine not wearing anything at all in bed. Far too cold and in summer, too sweaty. I know it sounds counter-intuitive but sometimes more is less with clothes in summer. Men who get on trains with no tops on in summer mean you get a horrible meaty smell of flesh that you just don't get if they have a top on.

Janeyem · 21/02/2018 17:32

If i didn’t wear knickers in bed, the hubs would think he was on a promise!!!! No knickers = game on!!
