To wear these knickers ?

This morning I have put on a pair of knickers that are 23 years old.Shock I know that because my boyfriends mum (at the time) bought them for me in 1995 for my birthday before I left to come to university. They just seem to have come with me everywhere and I just still have them in my drawer. Anyone got any older underwear/clothing still in regular use ?

I have an old work skirt - really nice pinstripe, navy - looks soooooo "Working girl" 80s - from the mid 80s..

it fits a leg now... Blush

I have a cotton beach dress that I bought in 1982 ( only gets worn when I am on holiday) but I still wear it.

RavenLG · 20/02/2018 17:07

A pair of my pants 23 years old certainly wouldn't let alone be withstanding a days wear. Well done op

RavenLG · 20/02/2018 17:08

Fit** Damn

Tillyscoutsmum · 20/02/2018 17:13

I still have knickers that I wear from the mid 90s. They're still incredibly comfortable and they seem to have stopped doing that style years ago so I'm reluctant to throw them even though the crotch area isalmost transparent (Tangas? Anyone remember them? Full cotton crotch and arse coverage but just strings around the side). Sooooo comfy

TinaMena · 20/02/2018 22:00

Haven't got them anymore, but my DH commented once on a pair of knickers I was wearing that they were the same ones I had to do PE in when I didn't have my PE kit once. How be remembered that I don't know!

ImMissHannigan · 21/02/2018 07:06

@Tillyscoutsmum yes Tangas. I used to get a packet of five from Tammy girl! So comfy. I remember having some with flying pigs on. A bit random but I loved them.
I was just wondering why I haven't got any clothes from many moons ago. Then I realised I am a lot fatter now, so must have gradually thrown away as I got bigger and bigger. 🙈. I'm going to go through my wardrobe tomorrow and find my oldest garment.

TheOrigRightsofwomen · 21/02/2018 07:40

I used to love tangas. I still have some from M&S but they're hard to find now. I cannot get on with that brazilian cut.

I have a U2 T shirt that I purchased at Wembley (the old, proper one) in 1997. I wear it to bed. It has a hole under the right arm.

  • I just wish I could still fit into the knickers I wore 23 years ago.
Tillyscoutsmum · 21/02/2018 09:08

Yes!! Other people who remember tangas. Grin

I've mentioned them to a few friends in rl and they've all looked at me like I'm making it it up!! Mine were from M&S too. I've tried searching for them but it seems they no longer exist. Hence why my old faithfuls are still in circulation Smile

I love the fact that the t shirt has out lasted the stadium!

Aren't tangas men's pants?

Fairly sure I've a pair of 26 year old knickers. I remember mum bought the set for me so would have been when I was at home. They're a sturdy purple and white lace pair and always drew compliments Grin the lace has just this year started to rip in places so they're not long for the cull.

LadySainsburySeal · 21/02/2018 09:20

I've got a fleece hoody from Disney that I've had for 18 years. Cosy as anything.

DarthNigel · 21/02/2018 09:40

I have some knickers that I've had since I was 17-so they are now 21 years old.
And a fleece that I had to go on the school ski trip when I was 14 and which I know wear when im sick-it's known as the 'poorly jumper' and its 24 and still going strong.

Listening to the Radio this morning, I tuned into Heart Essex briefly (Chris Evans was playing Hotel California which gives me the rage but anyway...) the women on the breakfast show told a story about a chat she had with "a friend" yesterday and it was the OP! Same story about 23 years etc but she claimed she'd had the conversation with a friend over coffee.

Damn cheek! The Daily Mail uses MN story but at least they have the good grace to say they got it from MN! Shock
