To wear these knickers ?

This morning I have put on a pair of knickers that are 23 years old.Shock I know that because my boyfriends mum (at the time) bought them for me in 1995 for my birthday before I left to come to university. They just seem to have come with me everywhere and I just still have them in my drawer. Anyone got any older underwear/clothing still in regular use ?

I've got a Burberry raincoat I bought in a sale in 1990. Still going strong. Jacket I bought in 1985 or 1986. Looks a bit dated now but I have hopes that eventually big shoulders will come back in vogue. Also a slip I wore on my wedding day in 1982. It's a touch on the tight side now.

M&S knew how to make a sturdy pant in those days

You never know when you will find yourself in a Mills and Boon situation

These should be, like, inspirational poster injunctions for a more fulfilled life.:o

I’m still wearing football shorts from the late 80s! I must have bought them large as I was only in my early teens then.

My husband has a t-shirt that is more than 35 years old, from Burton's Menswear. I think it cost a fiver. I have photos of him wearing it pre-marriage and babies, then with each individual child over the years, and on subsequent childfree holidays. It is still going strong, which is pretty amazing for a cheap 80's t-shirt. The kids, now adults and with children of their own, love the t-shirt and he isn't allowed to throw it out.

jacobsgirl · 20/02/2018 10:36

Posted too soon I meant I'm only 20 !!!

smoothieooo · 20/02/2018 10:36

My mum knitted me a jumper when I was 14/15 - it's a bright red, sloppy fit crew neck which I still wear occasionally (aged 50)!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 20/02/2018 10:38

I definitely don't have any clothes that old!

Todamhottoday · 20/02/2018 10:39

I have a pair of PJ's, type of joggers still fit god knows how, from 1982!

Granted the elastic is a tad tired but they were the first Christmas present from my DH

I do have a dress from August 1980. I bought it with my first ever wages and it cost me £10, I earned a tenner doing pt work when I was at Technical college in those days! It no longer fits. I keep it for sentimental reasons now.

I do have a lovey comfy pair of jog pants that I invested in in the early 90s, I was 29 or 30 , I’m 54 now and still wear them. They have the brand name woven into the elastic on the waistband and after 25 years, I can’t tell you what brand they are! 😜

Bed knickers???

I have bed socks, but what are bed knickers? Why do you wear knickers in bed - unless sexy ones to be, ahem, removed?

I have a pair of cut-off jean shorts which I cut off late 80's, once the jeans got too short for me - so probably original jeans circa 1984, and in all probability the jeans were cast-offs from an older sibling or friend.
I have some elasticated denim blue and white striped pedal-pushers (oh yeah) from around 1983 which I still wear occasionally (they are very stretchy...)
I also still own the knickers I wasn't wearing, when I lost it... but late 80's, not nineties ;-)

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 20/02/2018 10:48

I have a blue and white striped butchers' apron I had at catering college in 1981. I still use it regularly, although I had to sew on new ties a couple of years ago and it is very faded.

IJustLostTheGame · 20/02/2018 10:53

I am wearing my old school trousers today.
They are over 20 years old.
I hated my school but I love these trousers

bigbluebus · 20/02/2018 10:54

A friend of mine commented recently about her embarrassment that her DH was still wearing underwear that he'd had since before they got married. They celebrate 25 years this year! She refuses to go out and buy him any new items as she is his wife not his mother!

I still have the first undies crop top n pants set DH bought me in 1989 😁
I always saved it for holidays away etc so it's lasted very well and although it was a size 12/14 it still fits but I'm a little bigger 😏.

ToadOfSadness · 20/02/2018 10:56

I have a dress from 1968, it is still in perfect condition, packed away until one day it will maybe get a new home.

ConciseandNice · 20/02/2018 10:58

Until I became a fatty recently in my mid 40s, I was wearing my jeans from when I was 11!

Ringsender2 · 20/02/2018 11:00

I still have a cami top given to me as a teenager, 30+ years ago. I wore it the other day and thought about that. I don't know what happened to the matching shorts. I think my bum might not have fitted into them for a time.

ElinoristhenewEnid · 20/02/2018 11:02

M&S (st michael) polo neck jumper from 1978 wore it last week. Lime green c&a classic skirt from 1979- still wear it. Primark 'punk mac' fluorecent blue from 1980. I have not increased in size since i was a teenager!!!!
