Trump Talk: or, Lift every voice and sing

lionheart · 17/02/2018 19:58

It's Black History Month and the fight goes on (plus, we all need a boost that does not come from ye olde hop flask).

Lift every voice and sing

Till earth and heaven ring,
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the listening skies,
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us,
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us.

Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,
Let us march on till victory is won.

Stony the road we trod,
Bitter the chastening rod,
Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;

Yet with a steady beat,
Have not our weary feet
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?
We have come over a way that with tears has been watered,
We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,
Out from the gloomy past,

Till now we stand at last
Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.

God of our weary years,

God of our silent tears,
Thou who hast brought us thus far on the way;
Thou who hast by Thy might

Led us into the light,
Keep us forever in the path, we pray.
Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,
Lest, our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee;
Shadowed beneath Thy hand,

May we forever stand.

True to our God,
True to our native land.

James Weldon Johnson (1900)

Pain Maybe those GOP leaders don't want to 'follow Trump's money' because they're afraid it will right back to them!

I find the idea of a true multiparty system interesting. We do have more than two parties, they're just too 'small' to win any important elections. They have 'messed things up' in the past, though, due to votes being taken away from either a Dem or GOP candidate.

An interesting article on this:

One thing I've long wanted to find, but haven't, is exactly the difference in Facebook ad CPMs paid by the Trump campaign versus the Hillary campaign. If anyone knows, DMs are open.

I bet we were 100x to 200x her. We had CPMs that were pennies in some cases. This is why @realDonaldTrump was a perfect candidate for FaceBook.

Those are my thoughts too across. Plus who knows what other kompromat might be held on them through hacking attempts etc (though that is speculation on my part). And it's hardly surprising given Ryan's previous stance on digging deeper:

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to a recording of the June 15, 2016, exchange, which was listened to and verified by The Washington Post. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher is a Californian Republican known in Congress as a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) immediately interjected, stopping the conversation from further exploring McCarthy’s assertion, and swore the Republicans present to secrecy.

Before the conversation, McCarthy and Ryan had emerged from separate talks at the Capitol with Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, who had described a Kremlin tactic of financing populist politicians to undercut Eastern European democratic institutions.

[...]News had just broken the day before in The Washington Post that Russian government hackers had penetrated the computer network of the Democratic National Committee, prompting McCarthy to shift the conversation from Russian meddling in Europe to events closer to home.

Some of the lawmakers laughed at McCarthy’s comment. Then McCarthy quickly added: “Swear to God.”

Ryan instructed his Republican lieutenants to keep the conversation private, saying: “No leaks. . . . This is how we know we’re a real family here.”

The Trump Campaign Is Trying to Raise Money Off the Parkland Shooting

Bloody hell.

I thought that would be the 9th circle of Hell, but it turns out it's only the fourth.

It looks like they have reached all levels and done a double take at some point

Lweji · 26/02/2018 15:56

From wikipedia (I haven't bothered to read the original):

2.2 First Circle (Limbo)
2.3 Second Circle (Lust)
2.4 Third Circle (Gluttony)
2.5 Fourth Circle (Greed)
2.6 Fifth Circle (Wrath)
2.7 Sixth Circle (Heresy)
2.8 Seventh Circle (Violence)
2.9 Eighth Circle (Fraud)
2.10 Ninth Circle (Treachery)

Trump must have gone past Limbo sometime in his teens.

lion the Supreme Court DACA decision isn't really 'bad', per se. They just said they wouldn't hear the case until it went through all the usual judicial appeals courts. The Scrotus Regime wanted to skip appeals and go straight to the SC. This (to my understanding) keeps the 'stay' in effect until those appeals processes have been completed OR a judge in a lower court reverses the stay. The appeals process will go through the 9th Judicial District which by and large is PRO immigration.
