to ask how often you get cat poo in your garden?

just that really.

we dont have pets, yet 3 or 4 times each and every week, i find myself picking it up before letting the children out to play.

how many cat poos do you get per week or it is just me who has this issue?

what do cat owners think their cats do if no indoor litter tray?

do they ever have to pick it up from their garden or do cats tend to mark territory in neighbouring gardens?

how do i solve this problem ( i cant have my own cat or dog mark their own terratory)?

What will deter cats from leaving their waste in my garden?

I haven't started this thread to cause a fight or offend but looking for anecdotal evidence and practical solutions.

Hardly ever.
But I have a cat and some fields behind the house so assume he goes in there?
We have a litter tray but honestly the cat hates it so much he will hold it in until he can go out.

Every single day. I hate it. I hate cats now too. It drives me insane.
I was picking up cat poo while pregnant, with a bag and gloves, every day, and carrying through the house to get to the wheelie bin.
We are the only house in our street without a cat it seems, so our garden is one huge litter tray. The cat owners don’t care.
It makes me hate our garden, and it stops the kids playing because sometimes it’s too messy to clear it all.
If you find an answer please tell me, because I am going to do something drastic soon!

I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried it all cat sensors, pellets, even let next doors dog run around to leave a scent lol. I spoke to my neighbour who's two cats tend to poo in my garden and she apologised and offered to clean it up! It is a nightmare but not worth falling out over. If you find a solution let me know!

Ugh my bloody flower beds are the neighbours cat's litter tray, gardening in summer is disgusting.

I have a vicious terrier but it hasn't made any difference - unless you count her trying to eat the cat shit. I tried cat repellent but the dog just ate that then spent 7 hours vomiting.

Grin and bear it is all I can come up with. No one can ever control a cat unless it's a 100% indoor one.

I caught a woman's dog shitting in our front garden the other day. The owner was mortified and was frantically picking it up, but nothing is sacred these days.

Quite a bit, but under bushes etc so I don't see it.
Unfortunately our new puppy seems to enjoy smelling it out then eating it (foul dog).

Old man next door has an immaculate garden and cats often crap in his flower beds.
Our garden is full of weeds so never have cats crap in it.
On one occasion I caught the old man shovelling the shit into my dustbin and when questioned was adamant it was my cats so he was returning it and made a point of saying he was angry about it.
My cat is a house cat as we live very close to a motorway. Angry. He's since been set straight and I've had no more in my bin but I often see him wandering down the street with his shovel

Its not that cat owners dont care, there isnt much we can do about it! We dont know where they go when they go out. I have 3 cats and 2 litter trays and one of them only uses it if she is desperate. Please dont hurt a cat for doing something that comes natural to it. Try spraying with water, or getting some of those pretend cats that stick in the ground. They also dont like the smell of citrus or menthol

As i said, i'm not in a position to have a pet so we will not be getting our own cat in order to solve this problem. Financially and time-wise, i am not able to make the commitment.

I have not indicated i would hurt a cat. The thought of anyone doing anything like that makes me angry.

As said in op, i cant have a cat of my own, i pick up neighbours cat fouling and i wondered was i alone in this and what i could do to solve this.

But how do you know there’s cat shit in your garden? Are you out there doing regular cat shit checks?

Yes, of course. im at home 4 days a week and i have children (including a small one who is not at school) who like to go out on bikes in garden.

They arent hard to spot when 1metre away from front door or casually throwing a glance over garden.

We were catless for a year after ours got run over. During that time we had a nightmare, getting at least 4 turds a day from other neighbourhood cats. Made the garden unusable. We ended up fitting cat proof nets to the fences, bit of an expense but worth it to re-claim the garden. Now we have our own cat again and the bonus that she can't get out onto the road to share the fate of her predecessor.

I hate the bloody creatures.
I've given up on having a pretty front garden for exactly this reason, everyone's basted cats! I've tried every repellent going, no joy.

My cat uses a patch where I grow random things every year (flowers, pumpkins, etc), and I keep a patch of it somewhat clear so he can do so. Clean the patch out when needed.

He also has a litter box that is kept clean and shiny for his use (especially since I lock him in at night), but he still prefers to go outside if he has the option. It's why I keep a patch in my garden for him, to cut down on him annoying the neighbours.

Luckily, he runs off any other neighbourhood cats should they even look at his patch of soil!

Of course there is. Indoor cats.

I lob stones. It does deter them after a while. And before anyone suggests I’m being cruel, I’m a great shot and I never aim to hit them, only to scare them. We had a much better summer last year.
