Romeo? 🤔

(TBH, Apple is just as bad...)

But, seriously, celebrity names are stupid!

Who on earth called their kids Maud and Morag?!
It's Zowie Bowie aka Duncan Jones that I feel sorry for.

Romeo is a shocker

Rob Morrow called his daughter Tu. Romeo feels rather normal in comparison.

But Zowie Bowies real name is Duncan, so I don't get the problem.
Stormi Knight - wow I wish I'd had a son that would be cool.

My teenager thought I was having him on with Apple.

At least Romeo is known as a name for a human.

Of all the names I wouldn’t have thought Romeo would be the one for this list.

It will never fail to amaze me how many people thought Elizabeth or Philippa or anything else ‘traditional’ we’re charming. About as much charm as the tradition of having syphilis or the workhouse.

Tybalt is a name with something about it. I knew a Frenchman with a Thibault for a grandson.

Betty and Pip are great names imo.

A woman on one of my guilty pleasure trash shows has named her child Harrison.

Which would be fine, were it not for the fact she’s a girl Confused

Her dad is called Harry too. It literally means son of Harry, except she’s a girl.

Didn't Nicholas Cage name his son Khal'el? As in Superman's Kryptonion name? That's a million times worse than Romeo

Frank Zappa's kids have the worst names. His son is called Dweezil and his daughter is Moon Unit Confused

I like the fact that Zowie Bowie is now David Jones (I think)!

Oh good, a name thread! I was in Primark yesterday and there was a small child (around 2) called Erasure. I thought I'd misheard but then mum called her a few more times.

Smurf - sadly yes it's true.

I read somewhere that Chicago West sounds like an Aldi pizza. Celebrity name choices are ridiculous. So srlf indulgent with no thought for the children - am starting to see why some countries have an approved list that you have to choose from.

Romeo isn’t awful, at least it’s an actual name.

I often walk my dog in a Victorian cemetery, in amongst all the traditional names is the grave of a woman named Philadelphia who died in 1862. I sometimes wonder what her contemporaries thought of her name.

It's got to be George Foreman though really. George is such a normal name, until you call 5 of your sons George and a daughter Georgette - now that's an ego!

Romeo is a bit out there but I was at a play centre recently and a child’s birthday party call was announced for an “Adonis”. No doubt it has a lovely tone to it but the poor kid will have a lot to live up to.

I know a Romeo but he pronounces it Ro-may-o rather than ro-me-o, with emphasis on the may part.
