I’m 18...Saturday night I would now be listening to Blue and DJ Sammy getting ready to go out to the local.
I’m wearing a two-tone halterneck top, leather look trousers (size 8.. sigh) with a tassle belt. Patent wedges and my hair straightened with my Babyliss steam straighteners! Gold eyeshadow like the one Kylie wears in the “On a Night Like This” video...

Necking a bottle of 20/20 and cheap red wine.

I’ll go out with about £8 in my pocket, dance to Fragma and S Club 7, drink loads of crap (free!) thanks to my school friend who works behind the bar then cadge a couple of Regals to smoke on my way homeGrin

33 and 3 months pregnant with dd. Feeling fabulous and driving everyone around to parties or dinner. Loving it!!!

BG2015 · 10/02/2018 21:19

Married with a 2 year old and living with my parents whilst we built our own house! I was 33.

Sleepyblueocean · 10/02/2018 21:20

32 and had just arrived in Paris on holiday with dh during half term. We had just started trying for a baby so no drinking - took nearly 5 years for that baby to arrive

Doilooklikeatourist · 10/02/2018 21:20

I was a 41 year old mother of 2 primary school aged DC
Probably watching TV with a glass of wine
Much like tonight , except the DC are away one at Uni. amd the other grown up and employed
And it’s alcohol free February 😢so it’s coffee , not wine

Buggeritimgettingup · 10/02/2018 21:20

I was 25 and had just left my abusive ex with two kids under 3 a bin bag of belongings and an unknown baby in my belly.

Now happily married with 6 children between us

LuxuryWoman2017 · 10/02/2018 21:20

I'm 34, 8 weeks pregnant with a longed
For baby which sadly I'll miscarry in 2 weeks time.

lidoshuffle · 10/02/2018 21:22

This thread makes me feel ancient! Grin

45, having a wretched time in work (unfair disciplinary threat). All things must pass, and they did!

brizzledrizzle · 10/02/2018 21:23

I had toddlers and was trying for another.

Snoopyokay · 10/02/2018 21:23

I was 16 and most probably at a house party. Had no idea how easy life was back then GrinGinGrin

DaveyouareanuttertwatDave · 10/02/2018 21:24

18 yrs old Backpacking around Asia for 5 months with mates. Seeing amazing scenery, visiting fab countries, cities and beaches and drinking far too much rum and coke! Seems like a lifetime ago! Still good friends with the people who I travelled with and see them regularly. Good times but wouldn't be able to do it now......I like to be in bed drinking a cuppa tea by 10pm these days!

BestZebbie · 10/02/2018 21:24

20yr old final year student at uni. Probably making notes for an essay, having been out from 10am-4pm on Saturday LARPing. At 10pm I'll stop and go down to the college bar, which fortunately I live directly above. Yesterday (Friday) was the main drinking and clubbing night of the week for me.

JacintaJones · 10/02/2018 21:24

I was 19, taking shitloads of ecstasy, drinking, out every nightshagging about with boys/girls/anything that moved and waiting to see what unis had accepted me.

belleandsnowwhite · 10/02/2018 21:26

20 looking after a 2 week old dd.

Sadiebird · 10/02/2018 21:26

I’d have just finished my shift at a supermarket. My then-boyfriend would have picked me up in his mum’s Corsa that he’d pimped up a bit. If we were going out I’d change into a halter top and VERY low slung bootcut jeans, flick out my layered bob, stick on loads of Anna Sui Sui Dreams perfume (blue perfume in a handbag shaped bottle) and go meet friends and drink alcopops.

RaindropsAndSparkles · 10/02/2018 21:27

I was 41 DC were 7 and 3. My dad had died less than 6 months previously. Had been married 10 years and the previous summer had our last holiday in Cornwall and were about to start a love affair with the Languedoc.

NNchangedforthis · 10/02/2018 21:27

I’m 21, I’ve quit Uni and started working full time. Still loved at home but camped out at a mates most weekends as she had her own flat and I bought booze for us both before going out. We would get suitably boozy while doing make-up and dressing our size 8 bodies! Then into town, drink more, dance for hours and stagger past Sizzlers for a hot dog and chips on the way home!
Mum would always pick me up the next morning as I would go to the shop for the Sunday papers 😂

Vinorosso74 · 10/02/2018 21:28

I was 27 so would have been out, could be just a few in the pub with DP who I met the year before or with friends. Possibly out to a club.
God I feel ancient now......

TooLazyForDrama · 10/02/2018 21:28

15 - I would have been sitting in my bedroom texting friends and reading

mrsreynolds · 10/02/2018 21:28

I was 29
Married 3 years
Trying to sort out our dump of a first house
Started ttc
2 mc later had ds1 in 2003 😁

HermionesRightHook · 10/02/2018 21:29

I would be 21, and just about to come to the decision to dump my stupid unworthy boyfriend. I would be just into Hilary term at uni and dreading my finals whilst prepping for them insanely.

I would probably be having the same night as you OP but going to a bop and would have had to pay for my own drinks, dammit. But nice and cheap because uni bars.

I had this wonderful group of friends, many of whom I'm still close to now, and a broad wider group including this nice but a bit feckless guy I was friendly with, who was seeing a girl I lived with but was part of our wider group. If you'd told me then that in fifteen years we'd be married I'd have laughed and laughed and laughed and then laughed a bit longer. He had a terrible hair cut and had definitely not grown into his looks, if you see what I mean.

We didn't get together for a long while after that - he wasn't even blinking on my radar for at least a decade. But we're really happy now!

AnyFarrahFowler · 10/02/2018 21:29

Great thread!
I was 17, getting ready at my friend’s house to go out clubbing. We’d all take it in turns to use 1 pair of straighteners between us, someone will be passing round homemade Skittles vodka, and my friend would have her computer open on MSN Messenger, chatting to boys in our sixth form to find out who was going out and where (was only a couple of places we could get in and get served in to be fair, as we were all underage!)

DKNY perfume and All The Things She Said by Tatu remind me of 2002

BrownTurkey · 10/02/2018 21:29

It was a year after we got engaged, so wedding planning and maybe a quiet meal out or a folk night.

I was 31. Married, no DC. We used to ski a lot. That year we went to Argentiere with friends about this time.

jarhead123 · 10/02/2018 21:31
