I’m 18...Saturday night I would now be listening to Blue and DJ Sammy getting ready to go out to the local.
I’m wearing a two-tone halterneck top, leather look trousers (size 8.. sigh) with a tassle belt. Patent wedges and my hair straightened with my Babyliss steam straighteners! Gold eyeshadow like the one Kylie wears in the “On a Night Like This” video...

Necking a bottle of 20/20 and cheap red wine.

I’ll go out with about £8 in my pocket, dance to Fragma and S Club 7, drink loads of crap (free!) thanks to my school friend who works behind the bar then cadge a couple of Regals to smoke on my way homeGrin

Mid 20s. Would have been out in London somewhere - probably around Old Street pretending I was cooler than I ever was. Probably drinking cocktails and smoking a lot. Had been with stbxh a few years. We had so much fun. Sad

On another Saturday though it would have gone...

Spend hours driving around the wilds of a random county.....following the noise of a distant booming thud, arguing with a VW Golf full of wasted dudes about how far away the rave actually is.

Get to rave.

Take a lot of ecstasy.

Spend the whole night dancing my sweaty tits off to Jungle and Drum N Bass.

Watch sunrise sitting on a car bonnet.

Fall asleep in a randoms car.

Though occasionally on the middle of that would be...

Have a standoff with the local coppers because, well....illegal rave.

Blush

25 years old, work for a major bank financing equipment to large companies. I was seeing a Scottish fella who I met in the pub and happened to be working down in the Midlands where I live. We had a thing throughout most of 2002 and met up every weekend and took ecstasy. It was a good year.. crazy crazy.

A song that sticks out in my head from then is that Lynx advert one that got into the charts ‘I like to party.. everybody does’...

I’m still in touch with him as a friend on Facebook but not seen him since 2003.

I was about 5 weeks pregnant with my now 15 year old. I felt fine so we would have been decorating our house and going out for dinner with friends

I'd be snoring if both dcs were asleep. My eldest 2 no third dc yet were 3 and 1. I was an exhausted mess, trying to teach part time whilst DH worked shifts.

I've no idea where the first half of my 30's went actually🙈

I was 13, would have probably went shopping with my Mum in morning then spent afternoon at the local watching the footy (my aunt, uncle and Nan all worked there) then most likely staying at a mates house as it was too cold to chill anywhere else 😊

I was living with DH overseas at that point. Great job, great social life. Savings in the bank. Life was good!

I was 14.5, probably would have been having a sleepover with my best friend at the time and trying to sneak some booze.

I was 13. Me and my mum used to watch channel 5 all evening, CSI then law and order. At nine thirty during the ads we'd have a CSI special which was ice cream with squirty cream and sprinkles.

Sat in the same room now after stuffing our faces playing board games.

Another one here feeling old on this thread!

I was 40 and DD was 7 so she would be in bed and we would be watching TV with a bottle of wine.

Not so different except tonight we are drinking the wine in a nice hotel to celebrate DHs 60th and I don't know what DD is doing but I doubt she has gone to bed yet. (And if she has I probably don't want to know!)

In hospital with DS2 who was five weeks old. He was having an OP. DS1 was a very cute 2 1/2 and got to be spoilt rotten at his Nan's for a few nights.

Literally to the day!
I was also 16, in leather trousers (clearly not for long) and a size 6 😱 How times have changed...

I'm 19 and in my local drinking Bacardi breezers and smoking Marlboro lights. I'm desperately in love with a man who turned out to be an abusive shit (although it would take me years to realise just how bad he is).

Erm, drinking mineral water and doing my exercises and feeling peaceful and possibly ironing, having read my nearly 4-year-old son his bedtime story and sung him to sleep.

Cut to now. Did my exercises, drank my water, feeling peaceful and just read my nearly 10-year-old daughter her bedtime story and she's fallen asleep : ). (Did the ironing earlier ; )
