I am due to pick DD up (almost 2) shortly from nursery.

I am in desperate need to go shopping

Would it be unreasonable to go after nursery pick up? Even though supermarket is 15 min drive and it's rush hour and normally we come home an have play time before she goes to bed at 7?

Tough decision Blush

I’m not getting the joke???

BeesAndChiscuits · 06/02/2018 16:30

Yanbu. Supermarket is exciting when you’re 2. You could have tea in the cafe!

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:33

She does love the supermarket normally to be fair. We do often end up with random things in the trolly and sometimes even paid for and realised at home (thank you DD for the dried sage leaves)

I could go to Waitrose as is closer, but it's more expensive

LastOneDancing · 06/02/2018 16:34

Really? Why is this tough? Because it's out of routine?

Go if you need to. She'll enjoy the change.

FingersCrossedHard · 06/02/2018 16:35

Really don't get this op Hmm Why wouldn't you go to the supermarket if you need shopping? How else will you get it?

Chienrouge · 06/02/2018 16:35

I’m not sure why this would be anything other that fine?

ManchesterGin · 06/02/2018 16:35

I don’t know why you wouldn’t go if you need to?

falsepriest · 06/02/2018 16:35

Why are we making this decision? If you need to go, go.

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:36

Just because it's a few hours till bed time. I guess it is a bit silly.

Flomy · 06/02/2018 16:37

No.

She will be bored & tired.

Order it online tonight, to be delivered tomoz.

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:37

Falsepriest I thought MN was here for helping with small issues too

NerrSnerr · 06/02/2018 16:37

Logically do you need to be home a few hours before bedtime? If you need shopping then just go.

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:38

Flomy - that is my worry.

blueskyinmarch · 06/02/2018 16:38

I feel quite sure when my DDs were little and i needed shopping i just took them and went to the supermarket. If you need shopping then that's what you do surely? Am i missing something?

Rainshowers · 06/02/2018 16:38

But it's a few hours to bedtime, not a few minutes...A trip to sainsburys will be fine, and as a PP said if you throw in sausages, chips and beans at the cafe she'll probably love it even more!

OakIsBetterTho · 06/02/2018 16:38

Why wouldn't you go? Go go go OP!

calzone · 06/02/2018 16:39

Just get what you need for dinner and do proper shopping tomorrow.

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:39

I think I am being taken too seriously, it is a decision I am weighing up but it's not stressing me out or anything.

MrsJayy · 06/02/2018 16:39

Are you asking if it is ok to take a toddler to the supermarket ? Yes if you need the shop go Confused

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:40

She has had tea at nursery unfortunately! I have decided am going to Waitrose - it is closer and smaller.

falsepriest · 06/02/2018 16:42

Great! Keep us updated! Grin

starrysights · 06/02/2018 16:42

I don't understand why you have felt the need to come to MN with this?

TwitterQueen1 · 06/02/2018 16:45

This has to be the most pointless thread ever! I think children are allowed in supermarkets..... There are 5 hours between 2pm and 7pm so I think you have time to go. Am I missing something?

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:45

Starry - maybe I was wondering what you all thought on this very serious matter.

Of course I will update you all on how the important trip went.

Last time we went to Waitrose she sat on a bag of kale, the bag popped and kale flew everywhere.
