I am due to pick DD up (almost 2) shortly from nursery.

I am in desperate need to go shopping

Would it be unreasonable to go after nursery pick up? Even though supermarket is 15 min drive and it's rush hour and normally we come home an have play time before she goes to bed at 7?

Tough decision Blush

Fish fingers it is, thank you! DH will be pleased Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 06/02/2018 19:06

£101 for a quick whizz round Waitrose? Shock

Op you should have consulted the MN Oracle on where to shop.

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 19:25

No cafe at ours.

Can you post cat photos on the app?

My FB is pretty boring. Mainly photos of DD

Update on journey home:

Got stuck at train gates. DD was asking for 'juice' repeatedly. I had an itchy foot that was annoying me, I almost stalled the car trying to itch it - I then realised I am stuck at the train gates, I should put it in neutral and handbrake on.

£101 is a weekly shop for 3, is that too much?

Update on at home:
Bathed DD
DP is querying the new nursery fees (I have returned to work FT) He is not happy.
I am still in my work suit
DD is watching twirly woos before bed in the minute.
Washing in washing machine is waiting to be sorted
Dishwasher needs emptying
DP is working upstairs

I am looking forward to a glass of wine.

umbrealla I really think that itchy foot needs a trigger warning in the thread title. My foot has not stopped itching since I read that.

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 23:01

It is itching again after I read that !!

Evening update if you are interested Grin

Had a shower
Did some work
Caught up with DP
Made some salad and sweet potato fries
Watched some of blade runner
In bed with a cup of tea now

I forgot normal potatoes and seaweed when in Waitrose

NoSquirrels · 06/02/2018 23:29

What did you have with the sweet potato fries and salad, unbrella? Just as I think vegetarian would be OK, then I worry ... what is the main point if that meal? Fries & salad are sides...

NoSquirrels · 06/02/2018 23:31

Although - you did ask the MN 8-ball and no one posted so not your fault, I guess!

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 23:35

I just had fries and salad - its all I need! I had some spinach too. It was delicious.

ManchesterGin · 06/02/2018 23:40

Is the Waitrose in a town beginning with P? Only mine is near train gates too.

I’m a bit stuck on the fact that you and your partner sang wind the bobbin up, him over the phone?!

NoSquirrels · 06/02/2018 23:43

Nooo.

I ate vegetarian tonight. Ricotta & spinach ravioli, extra spinach m, butter & tomato purée sauce. But salad & chips needs ... something. Fried egg? Mushrooms? Omelette?

I fear that eating veggie full time is a slow slide into cheese on toast/ crackers and odd combinations of stuff that aren’t “proper” meals. Fries & salad = disappointment for me!

Yellowshadeofgreen · 07/02/2018 00:30

MN8 ball should I stay up to watch another episode of black mirror??

If you don’t respond in 1 minute I am taking it as a yes.

kubex · 07/02/2018 03:21

Bloody hell OP, you need to get a life!!

Mummyoflittledragon · 07/02/2018 04:28

You gave her crisps instead of the banana. Why??

1forAll74 · 07/02/2018 04:51

oh dear,, I don't think its much fun , taking a small child to a supermarket,, especially Sainsburys or Waitrose.. its just not right. Could you not do your shopping at some other time.. as when you are not stressed about your cat,, and the bad parking woman.. and the kale and bananas as well..

I keep thinking about the burst bag of kale, its a travesty to sit on a bag of kale, I eat some kale every day, and hate the thought of any wasted kale . Lets hope that your next day will be super eventful too,

Beeziekn33ze · 07/02/2018 17:59

🙄

dragonara53 · 07/02/2018 18:02

Omg, get a grip, what do you think we used to do before there was online shopping? I have five dc's and used to take them all shopping. It was either that or tie them up and gag them before locking them in house on their own. And we used to take them when dp finished work so it could be 10pm before we got home. So I don't see the problem, you have to do what you have to do, simple common sense.

Battleax · 07/02/2018 18:07

Jesus H Christ.

Are you not boring yourself? Confused

neveradullmoment99 · 07/02/2018 18:19

I wouldn't take her either. She will be tired and most likely fall asleep in the car then be grumpy when you wake her. Nightmare!

I love this thread. Just the sort of mundane shit that occupies my life. No CFs, neighbours, parking, wheelchairs. A breath of fresh air

Aridane · 07/02/2018 18:20

And no mooncups or coconut oil

Emoconn · 07/02/2018 18:58

This is ridiculous. How do you make other simple life choices?

lolalola19 · 07/02/2018 19:40

Don't people take kids shopping anymore OP?

Chickoletta · 07/02/2018 19:46

Very much enjoying this thread, OP! Agree with a PP that salad and fries does not constitute a meal...
