I am due to pick DD up (almost 2) shortly from nursery.

I am in desperate need to go shopping

Would it be unreasonable to go after nursery pick up? Even though supermarket is 15 min drive and it's rush hour and normally we come home an have play time before she goes to bed at 7?

Tough decision Blush

I was in a meeting at 2pm

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 06/02/2018 16:48

Why would you think it's not ok to take her to the supermarket?

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 16:48

Update - I am in the car ready to go. Radio is on. It smells of bananas in here due to my banana from lunch time still on passenger seat uneaten.

I have only 2 dashes left of fuel.

The cat is by the front door.

Old costa cup needs emptying.

Will update you shortly.

Reading posts like Flomy's makes me realise that I just musn't love my kids very much.

Mosaic123 · 06/02/2018 16:48

Kale tastes like what you stuff cushions with. Clever child.

falsepriest · 06/02/2018 16:49

We need to know more about the cat, tbh. We MNers have our priorities.

Speak soon! Don't sit on any kale!

Let's hope no important decision making was required of you at the meeting, if you get your knickers in a twist about taking your child to the shops Hmm

NoSquirrels · 06/02/2018 16:50

You’re all funny! I was reading a different thread the other day where someone’s toddler was taken to the supermarket post-nursery and behaved badly and the OP was handed their arse: “What did you expect, taking a tired child to the supermarket” etc etc.

But here the OP wonders if it’s a good idea and you all give her the Hmm face!

Cat is male and had been fed prior to me leaving.

I am now going into nursery to collect my DD.

Annoying Micra mum is here too. She parks badly.

Meeting was full of important decisions - I was fine.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 06/02/2018 16:55

Remember those Magic 8 ball fortune tellers? You asked it a tricky question about your life, gave it a shake and an answer would appear in the little window.

You could ask it "Will Darrel in year 10 ask me out?" and it would come up with "Maybe", "Definitely not", "Yes", "This will happen" and so on.

You could even ask it again if you didn't like the answer. Grin
OP you need one.

nonetcurtains · 06/02/2018 16:56

But I want a diagram :(

jessei · 06/02/2018 16:58

It will be fine !

PuntasticUsername · 06/02/2018 16:59

"Annoying Micra mum is here too. She parks badly."

Does she park literally diagonally across the pavement right in front of nursery, leaving her car's arse sticking out into the traffic?

If so, I think your DD and my DS go to the same nursery Grin

falsepriest · 06/02/2018 17:04

SilverySurfer · 06/02/2018 17:05

It's bizarre, it seems like some posters are now using MN a bit like an 8 ball. Eg: WIBU to eat today? Yes YWBU - oh ok ty I will starve. My eyeball is hanging out of its socket by a thread, WIBU to go to A&E? Yes, don't waste NHS money - oh ok I will just wait until it drops off.

I'm intrigued to know, OP, what would you have done if everyone said of course you're unreasonable to take your child to the supermarket? Would you have not gone? Would that result in having nothing to eat?
How long does it take you to choose between two bags of kale? Will you be home by midnight? Grin

Boobyboo2 · 06/02/2018 17:06

Grin this is brilliant!!!

SilverySurfer · 06/02/2018 17:06

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties Great minds think alike Grin

That is an awesome diagram, FalsePriest, I especially liked the 'squashed kale'... Grin

With all the unparalleled shit on Mumsnet at the moment, threads like this are breath of fresh air... and the diagram's a definite boon.

umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 17:09

Amazing diagram!

Pick up done. She ate all her lunch, some of her tea and slept for 50 minutes. She had a good day.

Heading to Waitrose.

OP posts:
umbrellatella · 06/02/2018 17:10

She keeps asking for a banana - she must have spotted my lunch time one.
