I am due to pick DD up (almost 2) shortly from nursery.

I am in desperate need to go shopping

Would it be unreasonable to go after nursery pick up? Even though supermarket is 15 min drive and it's rush hour and normally we come home an have play time before she goes to bed at 7?

Tough decision Blush

OP, you WBU to have parked in a p and c space with an actual child. Don't you know that on MN that makes you entitled? Such spaces are to be reserved for those with very hidden disabilities.

My dc loved food shopping! Lots of goodies in veg and fruit aisle. It was as good as playground and you can pick up treat for dinner. Perfect one on one time.

I always took my daughter no matter the time of day. My world does NOT revolve around her.....it revolves WITH her and as such she needs to do things I want/need to do

I used to let the twins stand in the trolley and put the goods in the little bit at the front of the trolley they loved it they are two now and we go shopping every day nearly

When I read threads like this I feel as though I have gone into a parallel universe where everyone is clearly insane. Then I realise I must be insane too, because I’m actually reading every single word AND joining in. Madness!

I just asked the 8 ball if it's ok for me to post on here again and got the answer: My sources say No. So I'm off Grin

For goodness sake you are smothering your child. Or are you just so set in your routine you can't cope with a visit to a supermarket Go shopping. Your child will enjoy the difference to routine and will probably sleep instantly having enjoyed the variation.

yes this could be considered very sad...but one of my best memories as a kiddies was supermarket visits.some of the most vivid too.and no that does mean we did little else.we did plenty of stuff as children but I love the trips to the shop.treat of an ice bun if we make it round the shop being good.sneakig in treats (yes you can hide a box of choc under cabbage) then even if specialy good we got.....mcdonalds.
scooting round the isles was great fun. I now don't like to think of my mum possibly dreading taking us or making it a hard decision for her.
