To want a hoover that actually works on cat hair and doesn’t cost the earth?

I have two hoovers, the latest specifically marketed as for animal fur, but they are both rubbish! Do I have to spend hundreds of pounds?!

Nope just a shark one. Look out for offers.

julz35 · 04/02/2018 07:28

I just bought a shark. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Plus 6 children. Best thing I ever bought!

ThisBabyIsAnOctopus · 04/02/2018 07:30

Just bought a dyson v8 animal -
£300 odd - but it’s AMAZING. has totally transformed my carpets and how we hoover. Pricey but definitely worth it

lovemylover · 04/02/2018 07:30

I have a VAX. For pets its really good and cost on!y about £56 from argos

cheeseandcrackers · 04/02/2018 07:30

I got a cordless Dyson V6 animal in Black Friday sales - actually changed my life...

FallenAngel89 · 04/02/2018 07:31

I have a Hetty for my 4 and it works just fine 😊

speakout · 04/02/2018 07:32

I have a GOBLIN GVU301W BAGLESS hoover. Cost £69 from ASDA.
It's brilliant. There are 5 of us and 2 cats.
Best vacuum I have owned.

HopefullyAnonymous · 04/02/2018 07:32

Miele cat & dog

JustGettingStarted · 04/02/2018 07:33

If you don't want to pay for a new hoover just now, try a rubber broom. They pick up the hair and roll it up. You should be able to hoover up the rolls hair with the hose, then.

BashStreetKid · 04/02/2018 08:41

We tried a Dyson. Never again.

JammyGem · 04/02/2018 09:18

This is going to sound silly but the only hoover that works on the cat hair in our house is a cheap argos own brand bagged vacuum cleaner we bought for £35.
We've got one of those fancy dyson ball ones but we end up using the argos one because it cleans so much better!

HelloFreedom · 04/02/2018 09:21

We've been through tons of hoovers. Finally bought a Sebo. Brilliant. Weighs a ton and is a pain to get around but actually works as it should. Not cheap though. About £250 I think.

ScreamingValenta · 04/02/2018 09:24

Get a Henry. You won't be disappointed!

arghh21 · 04/02/2018 09:24

Our Miele works better than the dyson but i’m still not satisfied. I thinking of removing the carpet

Mamabear14 · 04/02/2018 09:24

We have a Dyson. It's crap on pet hair even though it's an animal one. I wouldn't get another. We do have a fur-eze broom that I got on Amazon for about £15 that I do the stairs with and it is amazing. The Dyson just doesn't pick the hair up off the stairs.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 04/02/2018 09:25

Henry - used by most professional cleaning firms, but the price of a cheap domestic vacuum cleaner.

We've had one for 15 odd years - purchased after we'd tried a Dyson on a 30 days trial and if you don't like it we'll give you your money back deal.

Get wooden floors downstairs and bar the cats from going upstairs. We have 6 of the bloody things, forever prancing about leaving hairballs, fluff and detritus around the place and the Shark is amazing at cleaning up after them.

WouldntTouchItWithAShittyStick · 04/02/2018 09:31

Second hand Kirby here. Love.it.

Especially love the carpet cleaning attachment.

T1M2N3T4 · 04/02/2018 09:57

1 black cat and cream carpets here. We bought a vax for pets for around £60 in the sale. We have to vacuum a couple of times a week and the chamber is always at least half full of cat fur.

prettymess · 04/02/2018 10:02

Miele. We have laminate floor downstairs and carpet upstairs. It is so much better than the Dyson we had!

TheFairyCaravan · 04/02/2018 10:03

Get a Shark. You won’t look back. Dysons don’t compare.

Ginseng1 · 04/02/2018 10:50

Have a 11 yr old meile cat n dog! Bought a Dyson v6 cordless animal but only good for wooden tiled floors doesn't do the job on carpets (and gets blocked at every little thing!) friend has the v8 n that seems way more powerful.

Ginseng1 · 04/02/2018 10:53

Meant to say bought the v6 as cat n dog broke (dh melted it hoovering Ashes doh) but as v6 such a disappointment got the meile repaired n back using that now for the carpets as good as ever.

We have a karcher WD3 it's fantastic. We also have a cat. Definetly would recommend we have had dyson and Henry in the past and the karcher definetly is the favourite

MyDcAreMarvel · 04/02/2018 11:02

Miele cat and dog, they were on offers in currys may still be.
