Live stream on the Facebook appears to show screaming and shouting in the hospital and police removing people.

Bratsandtwats · 23/04/2018 13:11

Now the AA is advocating setting off the fire alarms. In a childrens hospital FFS! Angry

GrimSqueaker · 23/04/2018 13:12

The poor other parents in that hospital today - they must be terrified.

Raven88 · 23/04/2018 13:12

He is calling for everyone to get down there.

TheDrinksAreOnMe · 23/04/2018 13:13

Cannot begin to understand the selfishness of this whole situation.

NerrSnerr · 23/04/2018 13:14

How are they going to manage Alfie’s death. How can they do it with the family present without it kicking off and affecting the other seriously ill children and families (and of course Alfie). The hospital are in an impossible situation but they need to put Alfie and the safety of staff, patients and visitors first.

TE has written on Facebook it is Alfies final hours. the comments on his post are horrendous
"As soon as they remove the machines take him and run"
"Murderers, how can they do this when they are letting refugees in for treatment"
"I hope they stop the drugs when they remove the machines so he can show them what a little fighter he is and wakes up"

I feel so sorry for his parents and Alder Hey today , and most of all, for Alfie Sad

Ravenclawrealist · 23/04/2018 13:14

The live Videos are horrible and the situation is just awful for the family for staff and for other families. I really hope all people at the hospital today family staff and the families especially those needing to be on PICU are given lots of extra support to help themes deal with this.

MargiaStevens · 23/04/2018 13:14

That poor little boy, and all those on the unit who are seriously ill. Grief does strange things to us all, but I hope someone is supporting Alfie’s mum and not leaving her to face this alone while TE is lost in his own private hell.

CocoaGin · 23/04/2018 13:15

I can't watch those videos, it's too distressing. Surely someone can grab him and calm him down. Someone posted that Kate is 22 weeks pregnant, and she's more or less doing this alone while he rampages round the hospital with this phone Sad. I almost think he needs medical attention himself.

africanprincessinscotland · 23/04/2018 13:15

I think he genuinely believes his son will wake up when they take him off the respirator. Heartbreaking.

Tattybogle89 · 23/04/2018 13:15

I CANNOT believe what he is doing. Bloody hell

PlowerOfScotland · 23/04/2018 13:16

I can't condem the parents, I'd be wild with grief too. But everyone else in that hospital needs to back off and let the parents and staff work together for Alfie. I'm not the type to cry over people who I don't know, but the thought of Alfie's last moments being such a circus is heartbreaking, same for the other poorly children. I cannot believe anyone would behave like that on an intensive care children's ward.

PivotPivotPIVOTTT · 23/04/2018 13:16

@africanprincess I saw a comment on the page earlier from a fake profile stating they are a member of staff at AH but had to make a fake page in case they got sacked but they can confirm that Alfie moves on his own and they have a video to prove it. Clearly an army member trying to rile people up. I'm guessing that could be the comment they are referring to?

Trampire · 23/04/2018 13:16

I'm totally stunned by how disgusting this all is Shock.

I'm sorry but arrests will have to be made. It's appalling.

IronicWitttUsername · 23/04/2018 13:17

african he may well make some respiratory effort, that will be misinterpreted by the army as the was fine.

ShatnersWig · 23/04/2018 13:17

My thoughts are going out to Alfie, the staff at Alder Hay and particularly all other sick or terminally ill children and their parents who must be in a dreadful state dealing with their own distressing situations right now without having to listen, or see, or be scared of what Alfie's family and the Army are doing.

Grief can make us behave irrationally but what is going on now is beyond that. Tom's family should be supporting him through these last few hours and not kicking off at the hospital and the Police. They are incredibly out of order.

reallyanotherone · 23/04/2018 13:18

How are they going to manage Alfie’s death. How can they do it with the family present without it kicking off and affecting the other seriously ill children and families (and of course Alfie)

They can, and have done in previous cases, legally remove anyone from the hospital who tries to prevent court ordered procedures being carried out.

Not what anyone wants, of course. And in this case particularly when so many uninformed people are invested via social media.

GinSoakedItchyPony · 23/04/2018 13:18

I'm disgusted that people would behave in this way in a hospital. The poor staff, the poor parents and other patients. This is horrible.

Ijustwantabloodyusername · 23/04/2018 13:18

They need more police in the hospital, especially close by

CommunistLegoBloc · 23/04/2018 13:19

That last live video is chilling.

Too far.

The other parents and patients in PICU must be utterly terrified.

GinSoakedItchyPony · 23/04/2018 13:19

I posted too soon.
I feel so terribly sorry for Alfie and his mum.
The police need to start removing people from the hospital.
