To think Kate Middleton needs to hire a make up artist

Does she still do her own make up?

It's awful. She either needs lessons or just hire an expert.

shasta I hate the way famous women are picked apart or slagged off whether that is Kim Kardashian or Adele or Katie Price or Kate Middleton or anyone. I’m not sure why people do it? Probably to make themselves feel better.

DunedinGirl · 31/01/2018 23:19

YABVU. I am also no royalist. However, I do believe that women need to stop ripping other women to shreds over irrelevant, petty stuff like this.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 31/01/2018 23:20

Can’t see what the problem is with her make up, she looks very well groomed and polished to me.

OhCalamity · 31/01/2018 23:20

You know, if Harry and William were princesses, their husbands would NEVER be subjected to this scrutiny about their appearance, their skincare, or be accused of hating each other for stealing limelight or whatever. Just her and Meghan. It's awful really the way we so readily attack public figures who are women and tear them down.

FFS, why should women be judged on their looks!? I could not give a single flying fuck. If she's doing the tiniest amount of good somewhere and not hurting anyone then she could look like John McCirick for all I care.

When I had HG I didn't brush my hair or teeth for an age. Definitely looked shite but certainly didn't need anyone publicly slating my looks. Props to her for even going out!

getsorted21 · 31/01/2018 23:23

Really, you don’t understand why people slag off Kim Kardashian? Cultural appropriation, vanity, peddling morning sickness pills on instagram for money perhaps? No obvs because I’m jealous Hmm

Drainedandconfused · 31/01/2018 23:24

Kate is a naturally attractive woman with amazing hair! I think she always looks good and looks sensational whilst pregnant, the tiny weight gain suits her although I admire her gazelle like figure when not pregnant too. I’m not a royalist by the way. Your post is bitchy.

StickThatInYourPipe · 31/01/2018 23:24

Is that cultural appreciation thing becuase she had her hair braided?

ShastaTrinity · 31/01/2018 23:24

Do you honestly believe a pregnant woman suffering from HG would go on an official tour abroad and be in front of the public and cameras for several days like this?
That is not doing women any favour, you make it sound like any pregnant with HG would be able to keep a regular working schedule, and you are minimising how bad it is.

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 31/01/2018 23:25

You are one step away from the articles "forget brexit, who won legs-it?" OP - where Nicola Sturgeons's and Theresa May's legs were compared. This is the shit women everywhere - whether they are royal, political figureheads, or just women on the street - have to deal with all the time. Stop it.

GentleJones · 31/01/2018 23:25

YABU

I think she’s beautiful & everyone is allowed their ‘off’ days.

Give her a break.

Be consistent, if slagging women celebrities is not acceptable - fair point - then there's no excuse for slagging off any of these women.

Saying that someone looks better on natural photos is hardly slagging them off.

YeahILoveSummer · 31/01/2018 23:28

Argeles - I appreciate she probably receives more assistance with childcare than I do

How much assistance do you receive with childcare are you royalty as well? 😀

Just to say I think Kate is lovely

windygallows · 31/01/2018 23:28

I actually agree with you op. She wears a lot of light pink lipstick and colours that seem dated. I think she would look better in more warm neutrals, lipstick with a brown tone and a brown or burgundy eye shadow/liner, not all the black. But I think she's got a kind of Bobbi Brown Home Counties kind of thing going on that suits her.

I also think she'd look great with a choooy bob rather than the slightly aging bouncy curls.

And least she's not doing the Lady Di blue liner.

And I'm sure Kate is a wonderful person. Makeup is just trite puffery at the end of the day.

you're here slating our Kate?
Your Kate? Aren't you taking things a bit personally? grin

Big grin back and a roll of the eyes - thankfully it's only you that hasn't so far got the sarcasm.

windygallows · 31/01/2018 23:30

By the way OP you should really try to move this thread to Style & Beauty. You do know what a killler AIBU is, right??

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 31/01/2018 23:32

Can’t see what is so awful about her make up here at all, it’s for an evening reception so is more glam than her normal daytime look I think she looks lovely either way can’t see why “she needs lessons” OP

To think Kate Middleton needs to hire a make up artist
To think Kate Middleton needs to hire a make up artist
Hadenoughoftumble · 31/01/2018 23:32

I don’t know anything about the morning sickness pills but slagging her off for vanity is absurd. Let’s call her fat and ugly etc and then also slag her off for being vain! I’m also not sure about the cultural appropriation- was it the hair braids?
I can’t imagine slagging off someone I’ve never met. It’s odd.

HeddaGarbled · 31/01/2018 23:33

It's Stockholm Syndrome. You've lived your life in a society in which women's physical appearance and sexual attractiveness is routinely and openly judged in a perniciously nasty way, so you have been brainwashed into thinking this is normal and acceptable. Just because it's everywhere (nearly - thank fuck for Mumsnet and Everyday Sexism et al) doesn't make it OK.

And this is what is still wrong with the world.

As long as we still critique our fellow women on what they wear, their make up etc - whilst cowardly refusing to show us our faces?

I'm damn sure Kate will sleep at night without worrying what some random who won't post 'her' photo so we can compare - pfft

Battleax · 31/01/2018 23:34

think how another woman does her makeup is her own buisness nothing to do with me and there is no requirement on any women to be perfectly made up unless her employment is focussed around make up and the selling of it

THIS!

Stop policing people's appearance.

Failingat40 · 31/01/2018 23:34

YANBU to think it but YABU to start a MN thread about it.

What business is it of yours how this woman chooses to look?

Nasty post.

tiddliewinkiewoo · 31/01/2018 23:36

apologies for the bold fail above Blush

hollowtree · 31/01/2018 23:36

Fuck, if you had seen me while I was pregnant with HG you would have hired a firing squad, not a make up artist, on account of the fact that I looked like an extra from The Walking Dead. But less lively

Undercoverbanana · 31/01/2018 23:38

Maybe she doesn’t wear make up at all. I can never tell. Maybe that’s just her naturally, so the OP is a bit rude.
