To think Kate Middleton needs to hire a make up artist

Does she still do her own make up?

It's awful. She either needs lessons or just hire an expert.

Battleax I was thinking you were sad for me for being born in Hackney Grin

Kate's Makeup is fine. If she looks a bit knackered, she's expecting her 3rd child in 4 years.
What difference would a professional makeup artist make? Sharpie Eyebrows & Kim Kardashian contouring?

Kate is a future Queen. (The current one has not changed her hair in 20 years.) Yes her style may not be the most fashion forward, but she is perfectly appropriate. Prince Charles pays for her hairdresser and she is always impeccable.

I hope she can start her maternity leave soon and enjoy her children --whilst Meghan takes over the flak

octonaught · 01/02/2018 12:08

*Current Queen has not changed her hair in 60 years... rather

Notthesoap · 01/02/2018 12:14

I give up!! We have a thread about grid girls no longer being used for F1 and people on here wee generally supportive of that decision.

Then we have the OP who has sharpened his/her claws claiming Kate has to look like 'the best version of herself' Hmm

Would that be for your benefit OP? Do you often view women as nothing more than mere decorative centrepieces? Ffs when I was pregnant I looked like hammered turd and frankly I didn't give a flying fuck. Get over it.

herethereandeverywhere · 01/02/2018 12:18

Why the hell do we have to be kind?! (About KM or any other public figure that spends my taxes and/or has a job based on being looked at by the public) It's not like she needs our kindness....Hmm

What's wrong with being honest?

I think being a royal obliges her to look dated and old before her time. I agree the makeup is terrible and reminiscent of the early 1990s. I'll be interested to see how Meghan alters her look once she's part of the family proper, though without being married to 1st in line she won't have as much pressure.

JuliannaBixby · 01/02/2018 12:20

lottiegarbanzo when you refer to them as The Cambridges it makes me think you've got a little salt and pepper set of Cambridges, which you keep next to your commemorative plates.

Battleax · 01/02/2018 12:21

We could just mind our own business about other women's faces here?

The idea that there's one correct or optimal way to look is pretty revolting and controlling.

DakotaWest · 01/02/2018 12:23

I hope Meghan will be able to stay herself and happy. She looks amazing, and I love the fact that she was able to go with bare legs because she wanted to. Her casual hair style looked great too. She came across as a really lovely person when she was "just" Meghan Markle (at the time of Suits) I just hope for her she can keep being who she wants to be.

JuliannaBixby · 01/02/2018 12:23

Or, here we could try not to contribute to the notion that women are primarily decorative, and that even women who gasp don't look like models have some intrinsic value that's fuck all to do with their exterior.

JuliannaBixby · 01/02/2018 12:23

Or actually, we could just choose not to be dicks. I always find that's a much nicer path to choose.

lottiegarbanzo · 01/02/2018 12:26

Isn't it interesting how the mind's eye works JuliannaBixby and how its images inform ideas and communication?

JuliannaBixby · 01/02/2018 12:27

It sure is lottie Smile

timeistight · 01/02/2018 12:36

Having been within a few feet of Kate in the last couple of weeks, I thought she looked much better in person than I had expected, much softer, younger and, frankly, prettier. She had perhaps been a bit heavy on the blusher, but if she’s still not feeling all that, she may have been trying to over-compensate. I was pleasantly surprised.

William, on the other hand, is a bit nothing, and has a very strangely-shaped head.

RoseWhiteTips · 01/02/2018 12:38

What is wrong with The Cambridges as a form of reference?Hmm

halfwitpicker · 01/02/2018 12:44

She looks better since she put a bit of weight on.

She's good looking but she is not beautiful. She has all the hairdressers, makeup artists, stylists, but she is not beautiful.

TheFirstMrsDV · 01/02/2018 12:46

'her make up lets her down'
Grin Grin Grin

fucking ridiculous thing to say

RoseWhiteTips · 01/02/2018 12:47

So who is “beautiful” in the eyes of the experts on this thread? Lol

Absolutely.

And?

DakotaWest · 01/02/2018 12:50

So who is “beautiful” in the eyes of the experts on this thread? Lol

I find Rania of Jordan absolutely stunning. Mary of Denmark, Queen Letizia are beautiful. Meghan Markle is beautiful.

What's your point? We could go on all day.

Battleax · 01/02/2018 12:51

No what's YOUR point Dakota?

halfwitpicker · 01/02/2018 12:52

And what, battleax?
