To not see the problem

A friend was telling me her partner had a go at her for putting the bath mat in the washing machine with the towels. Apparently this is really disgusting and it should be washed separately. Friend agree and said she hadn't actually put them in together he just thought she had. Aibu to not see why it's disgusting?? Maybe putting the door mat in with the clothes but can't see what wrong with the bath mat?

I wash towels at 60 so as long as you aren’t mixing white and coloured towels I can’t see the issue.

Those of you who wash your underwear at 60C - do you also make your partner was his knob at 60C before giving him a blow job?!

channelprincess Grin I guess you are a princess though so it's understandable

Dark wash, light wash and brights wash, and a separate hot wash for towels and bathmat with no fabric conditioner. My knickers go in with my pillow cases though because if I thought they were spreading germs it would be time for a new washer!

I was everything at 40 (noro etc excepted)

Me too Sopranos.

Except snotty hankies just because I can't stand touching them . . . so they get washed inside a net bag on their own

Youshallnotpass · 29/01/2018 15:55

I do towels and bedding at 60 and everything else at 40 (including underwear).

Actually - tell a lie, once a month we do a 95 degree wash (maintenance wash?) and I sometimes bung the towels in with that (no powder etc) as it seems a waste otherwise.

Towels then go in tumble dryer.

DH still has a bit of a tendency to be a bit like this about stuff & I now handle it completely differently instead of getting defensive as I often used to. Basically, I will firmly tell him if he’s not happy with the way I’ve done something, he’s welcome to do it himself next time.
