As above (at the risk of sounding tin foil hat) and if we're not, what the hell is going on in the world, what's causing it?

OP posts:
Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:04

Perhaps because the left are busy pitting everyone against eachother & dividing everyone into groups.

Yes! This. I hate this. Things like our sex or colour or where we were born should be the least important things about us. The left is just telling us that not only are they the only things about us that matter, but that we're in constant competition with those who don't share our characteristics. It's bullshit.

I have far more in common with some old Jamaican grannies or Chinese students than I do with some other white women. But that's my box and the left want to shove me in it.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:07

The U.S. spends more on healthcare than any other country — but not with better health outcomes

Exactly. Throwing money at an inefficient broken system doesn't make it better. We should move to a German or French based system (including proof of entitlement) and scrap the current system.

Falmer · 22/01/2018 13:11

theEagle that was so funny Grin

This has turned into the @Eltonjohnssyrup thread. Show.

Keep going. You really are showing your true colours. (which is supposedly a conspiracy theory song - bizarrely)

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:17

I find the far left Labour Party in this country has the same strokes of anti-semitism as the Nationalist Socialist Party

Exactly. Did you hear they suspended the antisemitism investigation into the man who verbally attacked Ruth Smeeth and left her in tears? The incident happened at an event where Corbyn was seen leaving laughing with the same man saying 'Nice one, talk later'.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:20

And they have replaced Anne Black who dealt with discipline and antisemitism allegations and replaced her with a hardline left activist who can be trusted to turn a blind eye.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/01/2018 13:21

/blinks at bonkers thread.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:31

Keep going. You really are showing your true colours. (which is supposedly a conspiracy theory song - bizarrely)

By pointing out that there are better, cheaper, free at the point of use healthcare systems out there?

By making some true and documented points about antisemitism in the Labour Party?

Or by saying I welcome the rise of China as an antidote to US aggression?

What's that old saying Elendon, if you want to upset a Conservative tell them a lie. If you want to upset a Liberal, tell them the truth. That's you all over isn't it?

makeourfuture · 22/01/2018 13:41

In fact there are a lot of similarities between labour & the Nazis moreso than the Nazis & any other party.

Well we would like to see an efficient economical public train system...but much beyond that is a stretch.

makeourfuture · 22/01/2018 13:42

Maybe the Autobahn.

Sostenueto · 22/01/2018 13:42

Omg! What is up with you all? Go and do something useful. Noe.that really would be a new world order!

Elendon · 22/01/2018 13:44

It is bonkers, care of Elton. Who continues to peddle half truths. Bless.

rocketgirl22 · 22/01/2018 13:46

China have a huge influence in Africa for instance.

Not every country shouts it is progress from the rooftops, some by stealth can achieve great things under the radar.

I am not intimidated by China (they have been careful to appear gentle and non threatening) but the west is declining and should prepare for change.

Don't understimate Russia Elton it is distinctly in their interest for the world order to change with the US ending up not so powerful.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:46

It is bonkers, care of Elton. Who continues to peddle half truths. Bless.

Which half truths? I like the way you're being vague because you know full well I can back any claim I've made up with evidence. I actually check facts you know, which is why I'm not left wing, given that most of the bullshit that comes out of the left is easily debunked.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:52

Not every country shouts it is progress from the rooftops, some by stealth can achieve great things under the radar.

But why shouldn't China achieve great things? Given that most of the world's population lives in China and the US needs reigning in, a peaceful, prosperous and powerful China is a good thing.

Don't understimate Russia Elton it is distinctly in their interest for the world order to change with the US ending up not so powerful.

Russia is nothing. It is a declining state with less power than Canada or Brazil.

Elendon · 22/01/2018 13:53

Please let others speak and take a breath Elton.

There's a good sport!

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 13:58

Oh do behave Elendon you tiresome flibbertygibbert. You're only telling me not to post because you can't actually come up with a reasonable argument to refute what I'm saying.

Typical lefty, if you don't like what someone's saying but you know it's true then just censor or throw insults.

Lweji · 22/01/2018 14:03

Russia is nothing. It is a declining state with less power than Canada or Brazil.

And they don't like it. By they I mean Putin. Which is why they have been working to undermine western democracy. And possibly unsettling the Middle East (see, for example, their support for Assad).

They may not have economic power, but they do have military power, and they're not afraid of meddling on other countries, in which Brazil or Canada aren't particularly interested.

rocketgirl22 · 22/01/2018 14:03

No one is suggesting that China shouldn't be a world leader or enjoy success, simply that it changes the world order and political landscape. The original post WAS about a new world order.
It is an observation Elton
The current status quo has ensured relative peace and prosperity. It has also championed democracy.

This may change.

A simple observation.

Lweji · 22/01/2018 14:05

No one is suggesting that China shouldn't be a world leader or enjoy success

I haven't said it here, but I will say it now. I find it very worrying if they do. They are not for democracy.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 14:13

And they don't like it. By they I mean Putin. Which is why they have been working to undermine western democracy. And possibly unsettling the Middle East (see, for example, their support for Assad).

Are you having a fucking bubble? The West (I'm looking at you Hillary) deliberately destabilised Syria to get rid of Assad and the RUSSIANS are the ones destabilising the ME?

Incidentally, you know that big thing about Russia interfering with U.K. elections? It was investigated and they did. With £3.26 of Facebook advertising. Shock

They may not have economic power, but they do have military power

They DON'T that's the whole bloody point. They have a creaking and old military which they can't afford to upgrade and they KNOW that they are not a match with the US and Europe so they won't take us on.

Put in can't even run his own country successfully let alone fight a war.

Justanotherlurker · 22/01/2018 14:15

Which is why they have been working to undermine western democracy.

A lot of the "muh Russia" narrative disappeares quite quickly when its pointed out that Corbyn was a regular guest on RT.

His press secretary and close ally Seumas Milne is a friend/sycophant of Putin, and before that the USSR (especialy the Stalinist periods of the USSR).

Corbyn's whole career has been about praising Russia, and before that the USSR. Whether it was the Warsaw Pact, Crimea, or the Ukraine, as far as Corbyn is concerned, it was a justified Soviet/Russian defensive measure, to NATO aggression - check his articles for the Morning Star.

Although I think JC and Milne are more useful idiots, Trump, Farage, and you know who else - Hilary Clinton - are in that sleazy - seems corrupt but hard to outright prove corrupt mould that is attracted to sleazy money - of which Putin's got plenty (there are tons of links between the Clintons and Putin too, but the press doesn't go there nearly as much).

Its been happening for years, its just that with Brexit and Trump everyone needs an easy excuse rather than do some introspection.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 14:16

I haven't said it here, but I will say it now. I find it very worrying if they do. They are not for democracy.

Yes, and the US drive for worldwide democracy is going so well isn't it? Wonder when the body count will reach billions?

Incidentally, I find it very racist and imperialist, this insistence our political system is best and must be imposed at all costs. Even when the countries concerned aren't keen.

If you think otherwise I assume you'll be holidaying in Libya this summer?

Eltonjohnssyrup · 22/01/2018 14:18

The current status quo has ensured relative peace and prosperity. It has also championed democracy

I'm sure the people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Vietnam, Syria, etc, etc, etc will be delighted to hear it.

Kursk · 22/01/2018 14:23

They DON'T that's the whole bloody point. They have a creaking and old military which they can't afford to upgrade and they KNOW that they are not a match with the US and Europe so they won't take us on.

Sorry but that’s crap, the British and US military has not been updated. They spent the last 16 years fighting a load of Shepard’s in Japanese pickup trucks. In that time Russia has advanced its military enough to be a worthy adversary.
