To ask if you've had Pneumonia, how did you know it wasn't 'just a cough'

Christmastits · 20/01/2018 00:59

Had a cough since Tuesday, I've called in sick for the weekend. I'm not starting to feel any better.

I have a temp of 39.5 and my sputum is now brown, it's really hard to cough up anything but it's always there. Lots of vomiting caused by the coughing, I feel bloody awful.

Drs on Thursday said it was viral but I'm not so sure now, I feel like I have the flu, I also have a uti which I'm on antibiotics for but they won't treat a chest infection.

Is it time to go back to OOH tomorrow? Or tonight? I all of a sudden feel really unwell. I'll have to wake DH up to take me but I don't feel like this is just a cough any more

Fantastic news Flowers

WeeSassenach · 14/02/2018 17:36

Wow fantastic news- hope you enjoy your day release!

If you fancy a far flung adventure I'd recommend Hawaii. Hands down best place I've even been!

So good to hear that you're continually improving Thanks

Christmastits · 14/02/2018 17:43

After everything you've been through I'd say hell yeah! Do it... live life to the full. Grin

RandomMess · 15/02/2018 16:43

Surely whilst TTC is completely off the cards travelling is the perfect thing to do???

Bobbiepin · 15/02/2018 17:02

Given what you've been through (and your DH) I would suggest a massive holiday is in order. You may be pregnant or a parent by 30 so do it while you're more flexible.

Christmastits · 17/02/2018 12:32

Amazing news op, you've had such a horrible time, look after yourself!

bumbleymummy · 18/02/2018 10:33

I just saw this. What a horrible time you’ve had. :( I’m so glad you’ve gotten home for the weekend. Hopefully you’ll be able to stay home soon.

RandomMess · 18/02/2018 11:31

I hope you and DH are snuggling up, let the tears flow as much as they need too. You can be overjoyed at surviving as well as heartbroken PTSD is a strange thing ThanksThanksThanksThanks

ohfourfoxache · 18/02/2018 11:42

Just offering a very late hand hold in a supportive place - I.e. where there is no mention of any kicking up the arse

I hope you’re being kind to yourself Thanks

Christmastits · 18/02/2018 23:56

Thank you, I'm in bed now wishing I didn't have to go back tomorrow Sad rubbish! But today has been lovely. Lying On the sofa eating cornflake cakes from M&S and DH made Mac n cheese for lunch. Proper comfort food!

Little update :)

So after the longest day ever! Where people wanted x rays and bloods and discussions all day, I'm to be discharged in the morning as it's just because they've literally decided now I can go, and DH isn't here tonight that I have to wait.

I have chest physio appointments and home O2 to appease my consultant because when I got back to the ward on Monday morning my sats were low. I have a ton of antibiotics to take still and a 'ward pass' to come back if I feel anything other than normal.

OP! You are seriously badass, and amazing Thanks

Cauliflowersqueeze · 20/02/2018 06:37

Just read this - horrific!!!
You’ve had a spiteful GP, and untrusting boss, a low immune system from chemo, a miscarriage, a horrific, untreated and bloody UTI, pleurisy, a collapsed lung, epyema, an abusive HCA, and being told you were an hour away from dying!!! And it’s not even March.
Your poor body!! Sad

LelouchviBritanniacommandsyou · 20/02/2018 08:10

That's great news!

Bobbiepin · 20/02/2018 09:14
