My dear other half offered me some toast, or which I took one bite and refused to eat..... He had used margarine not butter.

He said I am a stuck up bitch. in a light hearted jokey manner

So would you decline toast made with Marg? Envy

We keep the butter out of the fridge Blush

We haven’t got sick yet...

bobstersmum · 19/01/2018 21:51

Margarine is banned in this house, it's not even food it's just mush.
Only best butter as my mum calls it!

DoubleNegativePanda · 19/01/2018 21:52

I probably wouldn't refuse to eat it, but I definitely wouldn't like it. Margarine is yucky, imo.

TwitterQueen1 · 19/01/2018 21:54

You don't need to spread it Buster and Julie, you just cut a slice a lay it on top of whatever you're eating.

But actually it does spread - I don't get why you can't do it? Anything vaguely warm like toast will melt it enough to spread it.

DextroDependant · 19/01/2018 21:54

We don't keep it in the fridge either, that's how it spreads nicely. In the butter dish in the cupboard.

Last Tango in Margate uses marge.

WineAndTiramisu · 19/01/2018 21:55

LTB. What is he trying to do to you?!

MsVestibule · 19/01/2018 21:56

Why are people saying butter doesn't spread on toast? Of course it does! We keep ours out of the fridge and while in this cold weather it might need a bit of 'encouragement', it's certainly better than marg!

BusterGonad · 19/01/2018 21:57

Twitter on toast maybe, but NEVER on bread, and yes, I've always kept it out of the fridge-my kitchen is very cold!

LizzieSiddal · 19/01/2018 21:57
Shock

Throw it away so it can never ever happen again.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 19/01/2018 22:00

Marge on toast is better than butter! Butter on toast is sickly and meh. Amazing on fresh bread though.

MsVestibule · 19/01/2018 22:00

bobsters so does my mum! She's in her 70s now, is it a generational thing?

I remember being in a cafe with her in the 90s, when butter wasn't used as much as it is now, so it was unusual to get it in a cafe. I was mortified when she said to the young waitress, 'ooh, best butter!' very enthusiastically Grin.

Idontdowindows · 19/01/2018 22:02

Oh, that's grim and it's obvious he's LTB (left the butter Grin)

How did marg even get into your house? Who let down their guard? HOW COULD THEY?

TwitterQueen1 · 19/01/2018 22:03

Is it acceptable to all gang up on Hunter? I know trolls aren't normally allowed but I think this counts as exceptional circumstances...

Ruffian · 19/01/2018 22:04

Marge?? Good lord, where does one even buy Marge?

FluffyWuffy100 · 19/01/2018 22:04

I like marge

bluescreen · 19/01/2018 22:04

How do you even know it's marg? I don't even know what it tastes like.
Shock

hungryhippo90 · 19/01/2018 22:04

I didn’t know Marge was such a no-no on here glad to say our family uses proper butter. Yum

Stickaforkinimdone · 19/01/2018 22:05

Taxi for hunter....

OP your BF is dirty fucker. A rotter if you will! You must leave immediately lest you run the risk of being served the same again at breakfast

DextroDependant · 19/01/2018 22:06

When I first stayed over at DP’s house he brought me toast in bed. It had marg on it and I nearly gagged when I took the first bite. Had to wash it down with lots of tea and then made sure next time we were at a shop to buy butter!

bobstersmum · 19/01/2018 22:07

MsVestibule my mum is also 70s!

Sallystyle · 19/01/2018 22:08

Butter only.

I have been known to take my own butter into work as I can't stand the marge they only ever have.

If it's so cold it's hard to spread you simply put it in the microwave for a few seconds.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 19/01/2018 22:08

My mum used to make sandwiches with Stork. I’d be waiting to leave for school, watching her slather on the marg, me stood opposite scraping it back off again!

CauliflowerBalti · 19/01/2018 22:09

OMG. YANBU. LTB.
