My brother and brother in law turning 30 this year, their girlfriend and wife said about hiring a large house for te noihydc

PanPanPanPing · 20/01/2018 16:47

Wow. She never seemed that type of person. Was Boris visiting MNHQ when it happened Shock

flamingtoaster · 20/01/2018 16:51

I'm amazed the Daily Fail hasn't started a national campaign against te noihydc by now though maybe they are currently researching all the ins and outs of it.

madamefraser · 20/01/2018 17:09

I haven't laughed out loud this much for ages...this thread made me wake my OH laughing so loud at this the other night !

Cagliostro · 20/01/2018 17:25

What a GF, posting about something so controversial as te noihydc and not returning 🤔

Worldsworstcook · 20/01/2018 17:38

For the love of God.

I have to ask? For us innocents? What is it!

LoveProsecco · 20/01/2018 17:41

Sorry but the first rule of te noihydc is that you

LoveProsecco · 20/01/2018 17:42

..... you don't talk about te noihydc!

Blush presses send too early Blush

Worldsworstcook · 20/01/2018 17:43

There's nothing in google either! Gone through every permutation I can think of.

MiddleClassProblem · 20/01/2018 17:44

It’s not on google because of Scientology

LarkDescending · 20/01/2018 17:51

Yeah apparently Katie Holmes was going to blow the whole "te noihydc as an ancient Pagan ritual" myth apart. Rumour has it the whole thing was invented in the 1970s by Tony Chide from Salt Lake City, and is just an anagram of his name.

Goawayquickly · 20/01/2018 17:56

te noihydc - more a thing than a way of life, although of course it is a way of life. Hard to explain really.

LarkDescending · 20/01/2018 17:59

Mind you the supposed Salt Lake City link may just be the Scientologists trying to discredit the Mormons.

llangennith · 20/01/2018 18:11

It’s an extreme version of Hygge.

Catsize · 20/01/2018 18:20

I love you lot. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Bluetrews25 · 20/01/2018 18:27

But the bible (St James version) states that thou shalt not te noihydc with thine husbands brother's wife!
You are risking the wrath of God!!!
FGS!

52FestiveRoad · 20/01/2018 18:27

I would say the pronunciation is 'tay noy huddock' but then really it is not something anyone talks about so you don't need to pronounce it, you just do it. Discreetly of course.

MyKingdomForBrie · 20/01/2018 18:27

It’s ok folks

52FestiveRoad · 20/01/2018 18:29

Bluetrews- but that is the Puritan version of the bible. The Catholic church are fine with a bit of te noihydc, as long as you make the sign of the cross first!

Goawayquickly · 20/01/2018 18:38

See, I've always pronounced it 'Haddock' which makes sense to me, not that I say it much (obviously.)

Roussette · 20/01/2018 18:46

This thread blows my mind, I'm with my people thank youuuuuu.

hmmwhatatodo · 20/01/2018 18:48

Worldsworst, I’ll have another google to see if I can find out what book Boris bought at the jumble sale in Llanberis which had a chapter in on the subject of te noi (can never really be bothered to type out the whole word), but I imagine it’s probably out of print by now.

LarkDescending · 20/01/2018 19:18

I hadn't heard about Boris being a practitioner, though it doesn't surprise me. I bet the tabloids have some juicy stuff on celeb involvement which they can't publish, because of superinjunctions or whatever.

hmmwhatatodo · 20/01/2018 19:23

Well, Rachel did have some sort of run in with The Lady and left to explore ‘other interests’ cough cough. Perhaps it was all over te noi but as you say, super injunctions mean we will probably never get to the bottom of it.

Roaring twenties? Faugh! Queen Anne of Denmark was having te noihydc back in the early 17th Century, and it was regarded as an ancient tradition even then!
