My brother and brother in law turning 30 this year, their girlfriend and wife said about hiring a large house for te noihydc

OP posts:
LoveProsecco · 20/01/2018 07:43

I'm so jealous! Now we have kids we never get to te noihydc anymore 😩

PanPanPanPing · 20/01/2018 07:54

"Wasn’t there an article on the pros and cons of te noihydc in The Lady magazine recently?"

I believe so; IIRC it was written by Rachel Johnson who had been the editor of The Lady a few years ago - I think she mentioned that she got all her info about te noihydc from her brother, Boris, who is an expert.

Balaboosteh · 20/01/2018 08:09

Has Oxford English Dictionary got anything to say here about possible pronunciation? I’m hearing this as tay noidy huck. Didn’t want to read and run but I’m sure some more cunning linguists will be along shortly.

Partypopper123 · 20/01/2018 08:12

I found out that when I was on holiday last year my next door neighbours used my back garden to practice te noihydc in peace. I was outraged, the CF's.
I logged it with the Police obvs.

Balaboosteh · 20/01/2018 08:17

Sleepless night here worrying that OP was struck down while typing and that was the sound of her passing out on her keyboard.

caroline161 · 20/01/2018 08:18

My neighbours parked their car on my te noihydc. I'll do a diagram.

raviolidreaming · 20/01/2018 09:04

I have googled but can't find ant explanation to what this te nohydic thing is

You'll need to go to the dark web

Catsize · 20/01/2018 09:05

balaboosteh, it’s pronounced ‘te noy ditch’. You clearly don’t dabble.

hmmwhatatodo · 20/01/2018 09:53

Interesting Panpan. A quick google has just led me to discover that Boris first found out about te noihydc when he picked up a book with a chapter on Te Noihydc in a jumble sale in Llanberis one wet February afternoon and was fascinated from there on in.

alotalotalot · 20/01/2018 09:57

Poo crumbs and now te noihydc. Is there anything not discussed on mumsnet?

Roussette · 20/01/2018 10:04

I'm disappointed. Basically I don't want to be doing anything Boris does and I do partake far too regularly ho hum. I always thought it was a bit niche, maybe I'm mistaken!

PanPanPanPing · 20/01/2018 10:04

How clever of you to have found that, hmmwhatatodo. Rachel didn't really explain in her article how Boris had become such an expert. Given that he found the book in Llanberis, perhaps we should be looking at a Welsh pronunciation?

PissedOffNeighbour · 20/01/2018 10:19

Ah is this a new Friday activity for us to try at centerparcs?

Datun · 20/01/2018 10:26

I'm honestly shocked that te noihydc has becomes so mainstream.

Although I did see instructions for it on the back of packet of Dettol wet wipes, so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised.

MiddleClassProblem · 20/01/2018 10:55

I do think it’s a great idea hiring a house for your te noihydc. I mean who wants that in their own house.

GrooovyLass · 20/01/2018 11:09

Datun instructions or counter-indications?

LuluJakey1 · 20/01/2018 11:21

There is an area near the docks in Cardiff known for it apparently- it is rife there. B and Bs advertise saying they provide it on their breakfast menu.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/01/2018 13:30

Can te noihydc be the MN term for an op who never returns to a thread?

We'd have to remember how to spell it first Wink

Elendon · 20/01/2018 13:37

I've made a tapestry with te noihydc as the centre piece. Tis beautiful.

NerrSnerr · 20/01/2018 15:10

I don’t know why MNHQ have let this thread stand. Do they want people to think they approve of te noihydc? Justine has a lot to answer for and if she doesn’t comment about this I think I will flounce.

llangennith · 20/01/2018 15:11

LuluJakey1 that’s a monstrous lie! Cardiff’s been cleaned up and prettified and te noihydc is a thing of its grim past.
Not that I’d knowBlush

PanPanPanPing · 20/01/2018 15:23

Justine is probably spending her weekend te noihydcing Shock

And if Olivia was still here, she'd be doing her 'peace & love' or 'ahemming'!

Chorkie96 · 20/01/2018 15:54

I'm new to all this and the abbreviations are so confusing, what does noihydc stand for?

PanPanPanPing · 20/01/2018 16:15

Chorkie, 'te noihydc' doesn't stand for anything. The OP must have had a 'fat fingers' moment when she started to post this thread and ended up with a nonsense word, which has been taken up and run by those of us who enjoy a bit of light hearted fun - you aren't missing out on any bizarre abbreviations.

In fact, feel free to add your own interpretation to te noihydc!

NerrSnerr · 20/01/2018 16:24

I heard a rumour that Olivia got fired from Mumsnet for engaging in te noihydc during afterwork drinks.
