And felt so let down by them in real life Blush such as were they a arse?

OP posts:

I've met a few other celebrities too but I haven't had a bad experience yet. The biggest arse I've met was actually the singer in a tribute band, a well known one if that makes sense, but still a tribute band.

He completely blanked all of the fans who weren't of a certain type(young, beautiful, scantily dressed). He seemed to think he was something special, and that they were beneath his notice, in spite of being advertised as a meet and greet.

P.S That behaviour wouldn't be acceptable with a major celebrity either, and I have nothing against tribute bands. I love several of them.

I've also met Cynthia Payne and agree that she is very nice.
I have met quite a few actors. The nicest by a country mile is Angela Lonsdale. She is an absolute sweetheart.

My brother met Lemmy from Motörhead

He saw him at a petrol station and walked up to this not entirely unrecognisable man and said 'are you Lemmy from Motorhead?'

Lemmy pointed at his t-shirt which had on it a picture of a Lemmy from Motorhead Grin

dh was at an athletics thing with Linford Christie yonks ago.... he says he was a complete arse and wouldn't watch anything with him on.
He said a young fan (pre/early teen) asked for an autograph and he ignored him, then told his coach to get rid of him. He was rude and up himself.

Met several who were perfectly normal or actively lovely.

Had dinner with David Starkey. He was awful. Constant sneering, and bitching about competitors.

lottieandmia22 · 18/01/2018 19:50

I met a lady this week who knows Kim K and says her husband is gay.

SymphonyofShadows · 18/01/2018 19:51

Lots through work but Paul Weller is my favourite, he brought me cake

PurpleRobe · 18/01/2018 19:53

Sheridan Smith = lovely
James corden = funny nut arrogant
Robbie Williams = odd
Antony Costa = nice guy
Gino dicampo = knob (for many reasons!)
Chris fountain = nice

TopBitchoftheWitches · 18/01/2018 19:53

neverusethisname

I was age 5 through to 10 when I met them from the 80's so about 30 years ago.

Which one??

pigsknickers · 18/01/2018 19:54

I see Alan Bennett from time to time. He's really lovely and unassuming, quite shy, and his partner is totally lovely too. It always makes my day when I see them Smile
My friend met Vic Reeves once and he was awful to her.

londonrach · 18/01/2018 19:55

londonrach · 18/01/2018 19:56

Colin fifth...lovely down to earth and dh taller than him. Ive meet a few.

EvilCleverDog · 18/01/2018 19:56

James corden - rudest person I’ve ever met

Ostagazuzulum · 18/01/2018 19:57

I’m seconding David Jason. He was filming at my workplace years ago. Just came across as rude and up himself.

Screamer1 · 18/01/2018 19:57

So glad you said that about CRH top.

I’m mildly obsessed with him even though I don’t care about strictly etc. He just seems really decent, but also maybe something a bit sad about him?

DorisDangleberry · 18/01/2018 19:57

Prince William - met him in a pub in Minehead. Speaks in a broad West Country accent, only about 5'3'' with a thick thatch of jet black hair and gets quite punchy after a few pints of cider. Also admitted he can't really fly a helicopter.

Apisto · 18/01/2018 19:57

I’ve met a few but biggest and best has to be Lady Gaga. Ive spent 2 hours chatting with her and a few other fans in a room and she is the utter sweetest person imaginable. 💕

NeverUseThisName · 18/01/2018 19:57

Noooooo Londonrach! Don't disillusion me! 😭

SavvyFishFinger · 18/01/2018 19:57

I have met probably about 30.

29 - lovely people. The loveliest was Prince Charles, sincere, compassionate, patient and puts you at ease.

1 - twunt! Craig Charles "look at me...!"

Commuterface · 18/01/2018 19:59

Ralph Finnes through work. His agent spoke for him (eyeroll)

Autumnchill · 18/01/2018 20:01

Met Chris Evans a couple of times at car events, Sir Chris Hoy several times, James Martin, John Barrowman, Spike Milligan and all perfectly lovely and polite.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 18/01/2018 20:01

Loads rugby and athletics 'stars' who have been very nice.

Robbie Williams who was, well, odd.

I agree with David Jason. Big ego ime

LegallyBrunet · 18/01/2018 20:01

Me and my little sister met the Queen when we were on holiday in Scotland. She was very nice, she said hello to us, smiled and asked if we'd come far. My stepdad met Alan Shearer at the Masters recently and he was apparently absolutely lovely. My stepdad was telling him how much my brother (who has CP) enjoys going to the Alan Shearer Centre which is a local day centre for disabled children and the man himself seemed genuinely interested in my brother.
