cozie. As it stands you can still get IN to Yosemite, just all the buildings, bathrooms, etc are locked and all the kiosks are unmanned. The campground is unlocked but there is no one there to enforce reservations/camping end dates. They've basically said "Well, there's nothing to stop you from showing up, but we can't guarantee that your reserved spot will be empty if the previous campers decide not to leave. And there will be no one for you to call to make them". So it's up to DH, he's the one who drives. We live about 4 hours away (5 towing the caravan) so it'll be up to him if he wants to 'chance it'.

We're 100% self contained so I'm not worried about the lack of bathrooms. But the lack of trash pick up and cleaning of campsites is concerning due to the bears, coyotes, and other wildlife in the area. DH said when he was there last month the coyotes were very bold and really close, barely out of the light cast by the campfire. He kept our Dachshund in the back of the truck unless he needed to 'go' and even then DH kept him on a very short leash.

This is why we're going at this time of year. DH is a keen photographer.
