To tell you about my dirty lunch?

I have a day at home alone today. Upon mooching around in the fridge just now, I delightedly came upon a few left over roast potatoes from Sunday lunch. I've just popped them in the oven and am planning on crushing them, adding grated cheese and smothering them in mayo.

My defence for this dirty lunch is I'm full of cold and ravenous. I deserve it.

Anyone else having a dirty lunch? What's your excuse?

I’ve had nothing... I’m jealous of all these dirty lunches. I did clean a dirty cats room/second bathroom.

This morning I had plain weetabix. For lunch I had an orange with some frisps.

That's so miserable. You deserve a visit from the Red Cross.

Feeling very clean thanks to MamaBear , I thought I was bad with 2 well fired rolls with an inch of butter and a packet of wotsits in each!

It would be dirty if you dropped it on the floor, but just sounds yummy to me

I had 2 large cheese straws for lunch, lovely....

A lazy celebration for getting offered my dream job this morning.

Beans n cheese n mash all mixed up 👌🏻

Huge plate of skinny fries, smothered in grated cheese, sour cream and hot sauce. Full of the cold so clearly medicinal

Never heard of a dirty lunch - is it a regional thing perhaps?

I thought it was going to be something to do with food + sex.

Sounds amazing and making my ham sandwich feel very boring.
The only thing I'm confused over is the thought of left over roast potatoes?? We sometimes have left over meat or veggies but never the potatoes, they're the first to go 😊

I thought it was quite a common saying. It's the opposite to 'clean' food. I.e. fattening low nutrition - but bloody delicious - food. Ideally can be eaten out of a bowl with a spoon in front of the TV.

I'm in the South at the moment but did a stint in the Midlands.

And 9½ Weeks turned my stomach.

Just had toasted rye bread topped with avocado, tomato and mozzarella - popped under the grill until the cheese melted.

Finished with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

It was wonderful and I don't care if it was clean or dirty - it tasted great (I'm going to make it again tomorrow).

YANBU to have roasties for lunch, YABU for considering putting mayo and ketchup on them though

In town, wanted plastic-free lunch. Greggs vegetable bake, flapjack and a satsuma. 😋

Curry and chips is perfectly standard.

This has made me hungry - all these lunches sound great. Far better than my miserable Philly on crackers. I want to go to the chippy now and have a chip and cheese butty - with mayo.

I want the fries I had at our local burger place (they've stopped doing them now - it was a special).

Seasoned, skin on skinny fries, melted 'plastic' cheese sliced, caramelised onions and burger sauce.

You call it whatever you want to OP! I am so hungry reading this thread (minus the lemon curd and wotsits- haha sorry)

I like leftover roasties reheated in a pan with chunks of chorizo and mayo

Dirty food? Never heard of it. Is it like 'clean food '( nonsense peddled by overmadeup bloggers) or 'naughty food' ( childish term) or 'syns' ( just as childish)
