@flyingbird totally agree!

Sofialemon · 10/04/2018 17:29

You accuse me of derailing but as I pointed out earlier the thread was very quiet, until someone criticised DLAM and FOD. Which is really all you seem enjoy doing on these threads.

Wren42 · 10/04/2018 17:41

I wonder if companies will stop using these people realising that it is becoming more and more dangerous ground. At the end of the day they are taking advantage also

CadyHeron · 10/04/2018 17:44

It is not derailing to discuss the topic you profess to be discussing in the first place. Questions get asked, they get answered it discussed, it's apparently getting derailed. Okkayy. From what I can see, Sofia's actually answering and engaging. Why ask if you don't want things answered or discussed?! It's like it's supposed to be rhetorical or something.

Wren42 · 10/04/2018 17:48

It must be a franction of the cost sending out a product to be advertised by these accounts their families and children compared to having to put an ad in a magazine or on the tv. I think this another reason I find the use of children so abhorrent on platforms such as Instagram or Facebook etc

This would be a VERY interesting thing to attend... billetto.co.uk/e/how-to-be-a-mumboss-in-5-steps-tickets-276044

I’m not sure it can last especially if discussions are starting to happen about. I hope that parents using their children on these accounts really start to think long and hard about what they are doing. They haven’t reached being teenagers yet hec some of them aren’t even out of nappies. It’s a tough few years governing your child through it into adulthood without the added pressure of a past ig life.

miamimice · 10/04/2018 18:14

Yeah, I need some inspirtaion as well so I can accelerate the sh!t out of my groove (whatever that means, it sounds like a lot of fun)

As you were!

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 10/04/2018 19:00

I don’t follow DLAM or FoD so that’s certainly not the case for me. In fact I didn’t even know who FoD was until I started reading the bloggers and brands thread that led me here.

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 10/04/2018 19:02

And the way you derail is to move it ever so slightly onto something else, same vein, but not directed at the individuals you’re here to defend. Deflection would be a better word I guess.

Mumofkids · 10/04/2018 19:12

Who is it that oversees the regulations regarding child modelling or tv stars or children starring in adverts? Which 'body'? It is seen as work and the children earn for themselves? Or do the parents get a percentage?

Mumofkids · 10/04/2018 19:17

The money on IG and the offers must be amazing to put good careers on the back burner and your kids out there like that. Most reality stars (in my limited knowledge of say Big Brother 15 years ago) seemed to be very 'average' (shocking generalisation I know) but trying to get better lives with fame and money, lots of these people have lovely homes and lives and to me, fairly brilliant employment. What makes you trade that for reality lifestyle? Is game addictive? Is the money addictive?

Mumofkids · 10/04/2018 19:17

*fame not game sorry for triple post

HolyMountain · 10/04/2018 19:23

Mum I think the adoration, money and the experiences offered that come with fame would be incredibly addictive.

I think FoD( for example) loves the attention and has broad enough shoulders to be able to ignore the negativity he undoubtedly generates. He doesn’t do the amount of free holidays or events that MoD does but he doesn’t seem motivated by that. I do think he’ll struggle when the twins are older , as stated on here.

langkaw · 10/04/2018 19:23

That mum boss thing is like something from the fifties with its suggestion that us mamas struggle to get out of the house and need to do stuff from the kitchen table.

I dislike the Instagram mama culture stereotypes of fish fingers in hair and tied to/fixated on the home I really do.
