The pinkest, frilliest monstrosity from M&S will cower in the presence of this dress...

the Selfridges is surely a 'sale now on' banner, not a dress?

BattleCuntGalactica · 12/01/2018 13:56

Having spent some time scrolling through that site, I have come to the conclusion that:

Many of those 'dresses' are grossly overpriced oversized tshirts. The same goes for the hoodie dresses which well...just got and buy a large man's hoodie instead.

Do folks really pay that level of money for an oversized badly made tshirt?

ApproachingATunnel · 12/01/2018 13:56

Nah, i can easily picure a teen wearing it. I personally wouldn’t though

lolaflores · 12/01/2018 14:02

Nassau that dress from DUNNES is hands down the winner amongst a field of ery strong competition. Can you explain what it is meant to be? Bewildering.
I keep seeing ads for Wolf and Badger too and each piece is more hideous than the last and the strange trainer, ski boot combo things make no sense.
Someone is buying this stuff yeah?

BabyAlexander · 12/01/2018 14:03

ASOS told me they'd seen these and thought of me!

Eltonjohnssyrup · 12/01/2018 14:05

ASOS is for the young ones dear. We're not supposed to like it!

Eltonjohnssyrup · 12/01/2018 14:08

Do you remember when our Mums used to look at our doc martens and flowery rriot girrrrrl dresses and say 'Why are you wearing those big men's boots and that potato sack? Why don't you put on a lovely pair of high heels and a nice blouse and skirt?'

Well that is exactly what we're doing now. We is being the Mumz that aren't down with the yoof innit.

Nassau · 12/01/2018 14:09

@lolaflores - it's a ... dress. Feckin' expensive dress it was too! The sleeves have frills down them - maybe if it didn't have frills it would be better. It's just the FRILLS!

Try this one - unfortunately it's also not on the Dunnes website anymore (www.dunnesstores.ie). This one has 'matching' tights. They also put some kind of sparklies on the shoes - not matching sparklies though. Can't really see it from this picture.

I'd sack the buyer.

ASOS told me they'd seen these and thought of me!

How insulting!

lolaflores · 12/01/2018 14:18

Nassau my eyes are stinging at the sight. The poor models face says it all. She is staring off into the distance hoping she won't remember it in the future.
I do miss Dunnes and now I know they have a website, my life is complete. I can buy crap to beat the band. Thank you.
I won't be buying this shite though

PatCliftonspostbag · 12/01/2018 14:38

Does anyone still have a picture of the M&S dress so I can gaze in admiration once more?

Mupflup · 12/01/2018 14:43

When I saw M&S had announced lower profits (or something financial and not good anyway!) earlier in the week my first thought was 'that'll be because of the pink dress'

MsHooliesCardigan · 12/01/2018 15:45

Somebody came to a Mumsnet meet up wearing the M&S dress. She carried it off very well.

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 12/01/2018 16:11

What is the M&S dress?

@Gingernaut is the expert in finding fugly dresses (the M&S one from last year) - not only did she buy it but she also had the chutzpah to wear it in public, I understand. Hats off to her!

MaddieElla · 12/01/2018 16:29

pisacake it really was for sale, not a sale banner. I remember posting on Instagram when I was struggling to find a dress. It was £2000. Shock

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 12/01/2018 16:30

It's just really 90s.

I agree. But the best decade ever 90's are back. DS, who is 13, is currently going through a grunge phase and his style inspiration seems to be Kurt Cobain.

I like the dress though. Wouldn't wear it but then again it's not aimed at me.

constantchange · 12/01/2018 16:49

I love the dress!

OverByYer · 12/01/2018 16:53

I like it

DailyMailReadersAreThick · 12/01/2018 16:56

It's not to my taste but nowhere near as bad as the M&S dress.

Cantusethatname · 12/01/2018 17:54

No I still win with the M&S pink number.
I think if you were a slim and gorgeous teenager yours would look ok.
But M&S pink would make anyone look terrible, that's the genius of it.

Tedster77 · 12/01/2018 18:01

I like it! If I was 15 again I’d be all over that and that’s who it’s aimed at. It’s 90’s velvet - what’s not to love?!? I would wear it now but jeez I see worse every single day.

Spangles1963 · 12/01/2018 18:31

OMG words fail me. Anyway, what exactly does 'track dress' mean? Do you go running in it? Grin

WorldPeasAndSweetcorn · 12/01/2018 18:35

@Spangles it means you get tracked by the fashion police
