From what I can tell:

Steele is a good and experienced egg and chose to contact the FBI when he realised crimes may have been committed.

Steele backed away from the FBI eventually because he was not sure that that the information he have them was not going to end up in the hands of Trump enablers.

Trump undervalues his property assets when he fills out his tax returns and overvalues his worth at all other times.

Oh, and golf courses in Scotland and Ireland are not profitable.
