Chett Powell’s tweets are absolutely chilling.
The comments beneath them on Twitter are interesting too- one person asks why he didn’t do anything to call them out. I admit I was wondering that too. But I guess it takes so much courage as quick thinking to muster the words and get them out in the way you mean to in a situation like that when you are shocked and horrified. But I do wish he had been able to say something- these racist people need to know that there is not some homogenous white-solidarity club that will have each others’ backs when they want to spout their monstrous thoughts.

Per @CNN, the false missile strike alert in Hawaii was sent because someone pressed the wrong button.

I once took a course in the US on slavery. The Professor started by saying:

'Whatever you can imagine it is possible for one human being to do to another, happened during this time .... And then there are the things you could never have imagined were possible.'

He was right.

Now they are wondering why it took 38 minutes to correct.
