Dubai in August is unbearably hot, can't go outside hot. If you're happy to spend the entire holiday inside or in a water park it's doable.

CatsRule · 06/01/2018 19:43

streetlife70s that's a brilliant deal if you mean in total? How/where did you book that?

Barbarian mum a canal boat holiday sounds great...where is it? Did you book through a travel agent?

We're doing a med cruise at an eye watering £4,200 for 2 adults and 1 child for 7 nights in July. All inclusive, including flights to/from Barcelona, and a tea/coffee/soft drink package. It's also for both of our 40th birthdays this year...the next 10 years worth of holidays will be less expensive I hope

Luxembourgmama · 06/01/2018 19:49

About €3k going to Portugal.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 06/01/2018 19:50

3 k 2 weeks on a Greek island in August 2 adults 2 kids. Villa and private pool, can't wait!

ChoudeBruxelles · 06/01/2018 19:52

Spain (torremolinos) 2 bed penthouse self catering £750 forbthe week. Flights for 3 of us £420. £290 car hire

treaclesoda · 06/01/2018 19:53

About £1000 on the ferry crossing and £700 for accommodation. One week in France.

treaclesoda · 06/01/2018 19:54

That's for self catering.

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 06/01/2018 19:57

£1k for a cottage in St David's in Pembrokeshire for a week - 6 adults 1 child, 4 bedrooms, mid-June. Not including spending money, food or petrol to get there from Derbyshire.

£300 for flights to Hungary for a fortnight for 2 adults and baby DS. Staying at family home so other than spending money that's it.

youngnomore · 06/01/2018 20:04

Choude- been to Torremolinos many times. I absolutely love it there. A friend has a seafront apartment we stay in. Have fun.
I haven’t booked anywhere as yet. But would like to get a caravan and drive to somewhere in France this year. Just don’t know where to start.

babygoatsmummy · 06/01/2018 20:37

7 nights in Almeria, £1500 for 2 adults 2 kids half board and including transfers. August.

ChoudeBruxelles · 06/01/2018 20:38

youngnomore Love France but Spain is so much cheaper. Was planning on biarritz but the accommodation cost as much as the flights and accommodation in Spain

rogue8 · 06/01/2018 20:38

Approx £2K for 10 days in Lake Garda at end of July/beg of Aug. Family of 4. Cost breakdown :
Flights - £400.
3 nts East Side of Lake - Hotel B&B (1 family room) - £ 500
7 nts West side of Lake - 2 bed S/C apartment in a small complex with a big swimming pool for £600. (Bargain!)
Then, the usual car hire & airport parking costs.

cathf · 06/01/2018 20:47

£1300 for a week in a villa with pool in the hills overlooking the Costa Blanca. Villa sleeps six but there are only four of us, so lots of room. Going last week of summer holidays.
Car hire will probably be another £150.

Longdistance · 06/01/2018 20:53

Normally we’d go AI somewhere like the Caribbean, Thailand, but this year we’re hoping to go Eurocamp type holiday with the big mouse thrown in as a surprise on our way back.

MoG3 · 06/01/2018 21:00

Not booked yet not having looked it will cost somewhere between £2.5-£3k for 9/10 days in the med/Canaries half board. 2 adults, 1 child

RebeccaBunch · 06/01/2018 21:08

The DC and I will spend a couple of weeks inter railing in Europe - while we still have EU passports. No idea what it will cost.

lljkk · 06/01/2018 21:09

Nowhere, I hope. Did a lot less year.

lljkk · 06/01/2018 21:09

justwonderinglike · 06/01/2018 21:10

£1291 for our share of summer hols. Last week in August. Villa in south of France and return flights to carcassonne. This is for 4 of us and there are 5 others coming via ferry. We need to get s hire car and there will be spends. This holiday is nowhere near as cheap as we thought it would be.

Also £1298 for med cruise at Easter for 4 of us. Including 5 nights mini cruise, 3 nights air bnb in Sicily, and flights. Need to book a train and a drinks package still.

poisonedbypen · 06/01/2018 21:23

Whoever was going to Cyprus - have you any idea how hot it is in August? When we went everyone kept warning us (I love the heat) but it was SO hot. OK if you just want to laze by the pool but too hot to do much else.
