AIBU to believe raping 100 women is worth more than nine years in jail?

We can confirm that a three-member panel of the Parole Board has directed the release of Mr John Worboys, following an oral hearing.

Who does something like this?! Angry

mrsharrison · 04/01/2018 16:46

Parole board are cunts. Do not put your faith in the judicial system. The judicial system doesnt like women.

LoudBatPerson · 04/01/2018 16:46

After the hope that 2017 would be a landmark year to start turning the tides against the sexual abuse of women, this happens just 4 days into 2018.

I bet people will still wonder why women wait, or just don't come forward at all to report crimes. It almost seems pointless.

thecatfromjapan · 04/01/2018 16:47
Sad

I can't help but feel this sends a strong message that women are still not valued.

horatioisabrick · 04/01/2018 16:48

thecat

Yes :(

Fekko · 04/01/2018 16:49

So many victims - and it sounds like there were so many more. How is that justice for those women? He would've got longer for embezzlement.

EvilRingahBitch · 04/01/2018 16:50

Christ almighty. Time to delve back into the other 81 cases and put him on trial for them. Maybe if he’s convicted of all of them as well he’ll finally be banged up for a reasonable length of time.

horatioisabrick · 04/01/2018 16:53

This is terrible.

And it does make it seem like going to the police isn't worth it :(

Rape a woman? Oh, well. Short stint in jail. (if the victims are lucky Angry )

LauraMipsum · 04/01/2018 16:53

He was jailed in April 2009, so if he serves until March 2018, that's nine years - 3285 days. That's almost exactly a month per victim.

horatioisabrick · 04/01/2018 16:54

Laura

He was charged for about 20 (?) counts, I believe.

lalalalyra · 04/01/2018 16:55

It does make you wonder what exactly "no danger to the public" actually means in the eyes of the parole boards.

The Theodore Johnson case just stunned me. How is a double killer back on the streets at all? Let alone one with a clear habit of killing specific people.

GladAllOver · 04/01/2018 16:56

We can confirm that a three-member panel of the Parole Board has directed the release of Mr John Worboys, following an oral hearing.
Were the three members men, or women?

20nil · 04/01/2018 16:57

Jesus.

NorfolksGiven · 04/01/2018 16:57

As if the fact that the police repeatedly ignored the women in the first place and not one of them faced any disciplinary action was not bad enough. Now this. WTAF.

ShoesHaveSouls · 04/01/2018 16:59

This is shocking. I can't believe he's not still a danger to women - his crimes were pre-meditated, meticulously planned, serial sexual assaults against women.

I suppose at least he won't be driving a black cab anymore. I assume?

Unfinishedkitchen · 04/01/2018 17:00

This is a sick joke. After the London riots someone was sentenced to six months for stealing a bottle of water. The rape of one woman clearly isn’t as bad as sticking a bottle of Evian up your jumper.

He will do it again. The police do not have the resources to keep full tabs on him. Then we’ll hear some BS about learning lessons.

Between this and yesterday's story of the man who has only just been charged with murder after he killed his third partner (he only got man slaughter for killing his first two wives), well I really want to punch a fucking wall.

What must this rapists many, many vicims be feeling? It's a slap in the fucking face.

Fekko · 04/01/2018 17:01

He did it - over and over and over again. This was no crime or opportunity or passion - it was a planned campaign and he would not have stopped if not caught. How can he be trusted around women? How many victims will he see/live near considering the sheer numbers of victims?

Anniegetyourgun · 04/01/2018 17:03

Well of course they're going to let him out 30 years early. Every one of those women got into his cab willingly! Furthermore this figure of 100 women is just an estimate. He was convicted for a mere dozen. C'mon, the guy even had his cab taken away and is banned from making a living by driving one in future. He's lost everything. How about we start a whip-round for him?

Or, you know, how about we don't Angry

GlitterGlue · 04/01/2018 17:03

Do t worry, he’s really sorry and has promised not to do it again.

Are the parole board on fucking glue?

HermioneKipper · 04/01/2018 17:04

Wtf?! This is outrageous

Aeroflotgirl · 04/01/2018 17:04

He still represents a threat to women, he should have been given a whole life sentence, this is disgusting. If he attacked 100 men, he woukd still be in jail, those women need to apoeal this.

PerryPerryThePlatypus · 04/01/2018 17:04

To anyone who thinks women now have equality and that there is no need for Feminism : This is what your/ sisters / daughters / mothers life is worth to the Criminal Justice System. 30 days.

StealthPolarBear · 04/01/2018 17:05

Ah they're only women. Not real people.

TatianaLarina · 04/01/2018 17:06

19 drugged sexual assaults including 1 rape, not 100 rapes. But yeah 9 years is a bit shit.
