I'm 50 and still not done. They're quite regular but usually light. Every now and again though I get a really doozy which hits me for six with pain and nausea.

Giggorata · 30/12/2017 16:36

50, almost as if switched off.

TheWelshDragon · 30/12/2017 16:36

I was 52 when I had my last one, they had been getting further apart for about a year, went from 4 weeks to 6/7 weeks.

TheWelshDragon · 30/12/2017 16:38

At the advice of my mother's friend I take black cohosh daily and no longer get hot sweats or flushes.

whoareyoukidding · 30/12/2017 16:38

48

FineSally · 30/12/2017 16:39

Last period just after i turned 54, after 6 months with nothing and i thought i was done. It was very light. I think I've got off lightly with no hot flashes or anything. I was very irregular and heavy for about 2/3 yrs prior to that, sometimes only 22-25 days between (my usual cycle was 26) and sometimes missing a month completely.
I have been told that menopause age can be somewhat inherited. My mum and both sisters were also over 50

PuppyMonkey · 30/12/2017 16:41

I'm 51 and started getting irregular periods last year. Now I have several months between periods - my last one was September/October. Sounds all right until you factor in the horrendous hot flushes/ night sweats, lack of libido and insomnia I have instead now. Yay.

Ohyesiam · 30/12/2017 16:41

51 and still waiting. In fact I get more periods than ever now.....

Spikeyball · 30/12/2017 16:42

Mine became irregular at 43, went to missing 2 or 3 at a time at 45 and my last period was nearly a year ago when I was 47. So not done for sure yet but hoping that is it. My mum said she had similar to me but all happened 3 years later.

TheDonald · 30/12/2017 16:44

36 when I had my last one. Perimenopausal since age 29. Now 43. I don't miss them one bit! Grin

Ohyesiam · 30/12/2017 16:45

But the Brest thing I've found is a supplement from Lambert's called ( I think) 45+. It's totally sorted all my symptoms ! Insomnia, brain fog, flushes.
Went from feeling like a walking menopause to normal in a month.

Falconhoof1 · 30/12/2017 16:45

I'm 47 but have Mirena fitted so have no idea if my periods are regular as I don't have any. On the plus side maybe I'll never know when I'm going through the menopause. My mum says she had no symptoms except the odd hot flush.

Jaxhog · 30/12/2017 16:46

Stopped completely at 58. Before that, I had 3 years of irregular, heavy periods, and then 2 years with the occasion bleed. Night sweats lasted for 8 years

MsHarry · 30/12/2017 16:48

47 in spring, still getting them but occasionally miss one and they vary from 24 days to my current one which was on day 46! Think my DM was about 51.

MaidenMotherCrone · 30/12/2017 16:49

Almost 50 and still going strong. Regular as clockwork. They were a bit lighter and shorter for about 12 months and then went back to normal.

EggysMom · 30/12/2017 16:52

I'm 48 and they're still pretty regular. I had one run 10 days late in June this year, but normal apart from that.

I am so boooooooooooooooooooooored of having them.

Crispbutty · 30/12/2017 16:53

Started at 11. Regular as clockwork til 43 then started to tail off. Nothing for two years now. 48yrs old. No menopause symptoms other than hot flushes. My mother was almost the same.

MammaTJ · 30/12/2017 16:53

47 1/2. I m now 50 and loving life again!

I did have sweats, the horrible heat that just comes from nowhere and makes you feel you are actually roasting in the fires of hell! Even they weren't too bad.

Then one horrendously long, several weeks long, clots and all period, that lead me to get iron checked and get checked for fibroids and other things.

Then, well, that was it. An odd bit of blood on the tissue when wiping, but it never came to anything more, then I realised that I hadn't had an actual period for 6 months and rejoiced!

CocaColaTruck · 30/12/2017 16:57

52 when they stopped altogether.

Sailed through the menopause with no symptoms to speak of.

fantasmasgoria1 · 30/12/2017 16:59

I am 42. Still occurring regularly. Gp said I will likely follow my mother when menopause begins. My mum was around 54 when it began.

theftbyfinding · 30/12/2017 17:00

Started at 12, stopped at 50, with irregular, light periods for a year before that.

gillybeanz · 30/12/2017 17:00

Periods became erratic at 38, became pg with dd, then completely stopped at 39.5 by 40 gp said I had completed menopause.
It's quite common apparently for women to get caught during the menopause.

gillybeanz · 30/12/2017 17:01

Oh sorry, started at 9 years old.

Periods went haywire at 37, premature menopause officially diagnosed at 40.
