Apologies if someone has already posted this & I've missed it but there's a threat on twitter by Brian Krassenstein@krassenstein about Graham Y Grassley which goes some way to explain why they're undermining Mueller and why now. I can't copy/paste (technophobe) like all you competent whizzes so if someone else could do that, it's worth a read. Smile

PlectrumElectrum · 06/01/2018 19:23

Thread. Not threat. And as it started 16 hrs ago I'm guessing I need to scroll back a bit further Grin

PerkingFaintly · 06/01/2018 19:53

Brian Krassenstein 🐬‏
@krassenstein
Given the news today that Graham and Grassley Are now Going After Christopher Steel, this is a Thread that I hope you all will read in its entirety and RETWEET as it may be quite a bombshell in understanding why Graham is Now Trying to delegitimize the Mueller Investigation (1)
7:00 PM - 5 Jan 2018

Up until recently Lindsey Graham was one of Trump's harshest critics and one of Mueller's biggest supporters. Something has happened over the last 2 months or so which has suddenly cause @LindseyGrahamSC to make an abrupt turn.
That something I believe may be related to.. (2)

his 2016 campaign manager named Christian Ferry @christianwferry. Ferry was and still is very close to Graham. In 2008 Ferry became the Deputy Campaign Manager for the McCain-Palin campaign. In order to take that position he apparently left his previous job... (3)

as a strategic consultant at Davis Manafort, Inc. Yes that's right, he was an influential part of Paul Manafort's firm. Not only that but he also worked with Manafort, Gates, and several Russians on a major deal in Ukraine (4)

Recall that on July 26th of this year, Paul Manafort's home was raided. In the raid Mueller's team was said to have obtained thousands of emails, many related to a business deal which went sour between the Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska, Manafort, Ferry and others. (5)

Deripaska basically felt he was conned out of $18 million by Manafort and his team. In a court filing in the Caymen island, where Deripaska decided to wind down his relationship with Manafort's company, which included Perry... (6)

his attorneys name the Manafort men "involved in furthering the Partnership's investment program included Rick Davis, Rick Gates, Paul Manafort, Alexander Balanutsa, -Christian Ferry- Philip Griffin, and Konstantin Kilimnik". (7)

One email recovered by Mueller's team, which Manafort sent to Kilimnik in April, read:
“I assume you have shown our friends my media coverage, right?”

“Absolutely,” Kilimnik responds,“Every article.”

“How do we use to get whole” Manafort asks.“Has OVD operation seen?” (8)

OVD stands for 'Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska'.

Then on July 7, 2016 Reportedly using a Trump campaign account, Manafort continues to send emails to Kilimnik. Referring to the possibility of briefing Oleg Deripaska about the presidential campaign (9)

So now lets Return to Christian Ferry. He was seemingly a very key figure in one of the main deals that Mueller is currently investigating related to Manafort and Deripaska. Ferry also happens to be incredibly close to Graham and was his campaign manager only 2 years ago. (10)

This almost HAS TO be the connection which ties it all together. Ferry likely found out that he was under investigation, which either led Graham to figure out that he too may be under investigation.Graham then abruptly turned against Mueller & the Russia Investigation. (11) END

(Bonus) Here is a contract with all their names on it: ibb.co/k6J1ew

(BONUS 2) In Ukraine, Ferry was part of a Davis Manafort team that advised Yanukovich, the country’s then-prime minister, whose pro-Russian party made gains in the 2006 parliamentary elections.

So Ferry was lobbying for the guy the American government opposed.

Haven't had time to read that Krassenstein thread, BTW. Or pretty much anything. All whooshing too fast for me!

cozietoesie · 06/01/2018 20:05

How Mueller's team manage to keep their heads above the water is (almost) beyond me.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/01/2018 20:37

Bottom line is that the GOP members of Congress all have dirty fingers. Either because they actually agree with Scrotus or have simply used him to further their own agendas. They know you can't play in shit without getting it on yourself. Now, as they see that things quite possibly may go south for their 'fearless leader', each and every one of them is anxious to make people like Steele (and others telling the truth) look 'dirty', or better yet, try to make them look like a criminal.

How far from that are we to suddenly seeing dissidents and people who criticize the Scrotus and his Regime publicly begin to suffer from 'accidental defenestration' a la Putin or simply become 'Desaparecidos' as has happened in so many dictatorships? Even 6 months ago, I would have laughed at someone for thinking that such things could happen here. Now, I'm not so sure.

As far as Scrotus die hard supporters, I am reminded once again of the Doobie Bros lyrics, and I'm paraphrasing:

"What a fool believes he sees no wise man has the power to reason away. What seems to be is always better than nothing at all."

VivaLeBeaver · 06/01/2018 20:39

Has anyone started reading the Wolff book? Is it worth getting?

If It becomes increasingly obvious to everyone that Trump has dementia is there a mechanism for getting rid of him if he refuses to go? Will it just be a sort of vote of no confidence?

cozietoesie · 06/01/2018 21:05

I think that you'll soon need to get out there, campaigning, Across. Smile

lljkk · 06/01/2018 21:12

Stephanie Ruhle made me laugh... said she couldn't put the book down so has no idea who fed her children & put them to bed for a couple days.

Ruhle came out with all sorts of details others didn't... I think there's A LOT of detail in the Wolff book. It's just gossip to me, though, so I wouldn't buy. Interesting how Tony Blair said it's not true about him.

lljkk · 06/01/2018 21:13

... and what is Chump doing with so many senior Republicans at Camp David? Was this planned weeks ago; WHEN was it planned?

badbadhusky · 06/01/2018 21:15

Interesting how Tony Blair said it's not true about him.

“Well, he would, wouldn’t he?” Tricky, isn’t it, to know how much of it to take seriously.

lionheart · 06/01/2018 21:20

I would look for the things that are confirmed by other sources and of course, their are tapes.

I recommend that everyone watch Unacknowledged - a documentary available on iTunes for about £1. Ostensibly a documentary about extraterrestrial life but the closest I've seen come to the truth of our political/economic system.

Perking I have a feeling Russia is sitting on its kompromat - waiting for the right moment. In recent days they have been aiding NK and making other military manoeuvres. I don’t know - my spidey senses are tingling there.

Conservative blogger calling for a President Pence - that presumed there’s been no collusion by Pence of course

AcrossthePond55 · 07/01/2018 00:24

cozie As soon as my district Dem committee finds our candidate for the midterm House election, I'll be out there! We live in a Republican controlled House district (in a blue state) but the margin of 'win' has been getting smaller and smaller so I truly believe all we need is a candidate who can appeal to more the moderate Republicans who live here as well as the Democrats. The current Representative is a Scrotus ass-kissing butt-buddy. If Scrotus, Ryan, or McConnell told him to suck their dicks, he wouldn't even ask for knee pads!!

lionheart · 07/01/2018 00:31

That's quite an image you conjured there, Across.

This is worse. Smile
