To wonder how Ive gone this long without having an electric blanket.

Got it for xmas and its the best thing ever, although I never want to leave my bed again. Grin
Minus 10 outside currently but Im so cosy.

I suffer from lots of aches and pains and this is easing them so much.

Has anyone discovered anything this year that they could now no longer be without?

Ikabod · 29/12/2017 17:37

Like Puntastic it would have to be parking sensors for me and Blephasil for my DH!

Bobbybobbins · 29/12/2017 17:51

I have just bought a steam mop which I hope will be as revolutionary as my friends say!

A dishwasher

Bobbybobbins · 29/12/2017 17:52

Also parking sensors are amazing - a revolution this year!

Do we know what the book is yet?

FlawlessFuckup · 29/12/2017 17:55

@hula We probably go through 2 bags of whole beans a week. My husband, who commutes, has 2 coffees with 2 shots in every morning, and I have one coffee with 2 shots. We also occasionally make espresso martinis, or have espresso over vanilla ice cream.
Sooooooooo good!
ISO I reckon 2 bags of coffee (3-5 pounds each) so 6-10 pounds/week for 40ish shots... something’s like 30-40p per shot?

iknowimcoming · 29/12/2017 17:57

Dd (18) wanted a 'proper' coffee machine for Xmas it was £160 and it's fab - I am a fully paid up member of tea-aholics and rarely drink coffee, and only when out on those occasions, but it's really good and easy to use, I've made very passable as a Costa lattes and cappuccinos and am converted to the bean side Smile shes so not taking it to uni with herGrin

pinkblink · 29/12/2017 18:04

Frozen mash!!

GunslingerPie · 29/12/2017 18:05

I am single after 20 years with an arsehole of a man!

Granted, I did worry about being a single mum but I am so much more relaxed and patient, I wish I’d discovered it sooner!

Condenser tumble dryer
Electric (sheepskin) blanket
Superdrug own brand skin products

WheelyCote · 29/12/2017 19:22

GoJohny I don't know what it's called but it's v-shaped /u shaped and works a bit like threading. Cost me 9.99!! Use it once a week and done

WheelyCote · 29/12/2017 19:26

A tiny grater.

I ordered a grater on the online supermarket shop...thinking it was a normal size.

It's a miniature grater. I was in hysterics when it arrived but it's Great! Literally.

I grate garlic into recipes. Grating cheese over a meal😋 means the cheese is finer but looks like a lot more

bananafish81 · 29/12/2017 19:33

Standalone tumble dryer

Not a surprise as it's been my dream to have a proper tumble dryer, having only ever lived in places where we've had a combination washer dryer.

It is indeed nirvana

DH said to me yesterday that he is a little bit in love with our dryer

So it's not so much as discovery as an achievement of an adulthood dream. It is every bit as wonderful as I had hoped.

Actual discovery has been a Dyson handheld V8

Cannot believe we've lived this long with cylinder vacuums that weigh a tonne and shitty dustbusters that essentially just look at the dust. Love the new Dyson

Having a cleaner
Giving my baby DD Calpol while she is still in the bath rather than getting her pyjamas all sticky

annielouise · 29/12/2017 19:44

Do those having hot flushes, sage tablets worked pretty much instantly for me but they're expensive - 30 for about £13 from Superdrug. HRT working also. Glad to have got rid of that symptom.

annielouise · 29/12/2017 19:45

For those not Do those.
