To wonder how Ive gone this long without having an electric blanket.

Got it for xmas and its the best thing ever, although I never want to leave my bed again. Grin
Minus 10 outside currently but Im so cosy.

I suffer from lots of aches and pains and this is easing them so much.

Has anyone discovered anything this year that they could now no longer be without?

Amazon. Fucking. Prime.
Cannot for the life of me remember life before it. God send.

Loonoonow · 28/12/2017 23:07

My Fitbit.

Chrome powder over my OPI gel mani. Beautiful metallic shine in dark dramatic colours. I love it. This week I have peacock blue.

Mary Berrys sticky toffe pudding recipe. It takes minutes to prepare and tastes sensational. I made individual ones instead of Christmas pudding and it was a big hit.

Astonish Tea and Coffee stain remover. Honestly has all my mugs looking brand new.

Thank you , loving this thread.

Lush celestial moisturiser. I have eczema and rosacea and over the years have tried all sorts, got a voucher for my birthday in the summer and ended up trying this - Brilliant stuff cleared it right up!

Oh PRIME. Game changer. I was a sceptic. I have since shut my mouth. £79 very well spent.

See also: Dyson Handheld.

Oh and the tumble drier. Moved house this year and finally have a utility room (ooh, get her).

Well, the heated airer has fallen out of favour, let me tell you.

Stoptherideiwannagetoff · 28/12/2017 23:28

Mumsnet! My life would be empty without it Grin

Maelstrop · 28/12/2017 23:30

Do all you EB users have it on all night?

Nope, pre-heat for one hour then it automatically switches off. Bloody lush!

Coastalcommand · 28/12/2017 23:31

Epilator, shark vacuum cleaner and Netflix have all been big improvements this year. Still love zoflora (new winter ones particularly) method cleaning products and Waitrose skincare stuff. Oh, and Aldi gin.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 28/12/2017 23:32

Amazon Firestick. Has completely changed tv viewing. Don't know how I lived without it 😭

calmandbright · 28/12/2017 23:32

Aeropress!

New car; Heated front seats, reversing camera and a safedog double crate in the boot. My dogs are set for some fun times with us!
Downstairs loo in new extension, which was finished in March. I got a bigger kitchen but the loo is the best addition.
Strong steroids for pompholyx...life changing, truly.

Dyson hair drier, 2 mins and I honestly look like I’ve had a professional blow dry. It’s awesole.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 28/12/2017 23:35

Dishwasher and Prime.

loadofcrap which £3 moisturiser?

Dogsmom · 28/12/2017 23:36

I discovered BB cream completely by accident last month when I rubbed a bit on the back of my hand in Boots, I have no idea how it magically turns from white to skin colour but it's the best thing I've ever put on my face, I hate to see heavy obvious looking make up and this miracle cream leaves my face looking like a natural but better version of itself.

I also love my Babyliss Big Hair and it's the reason I had my long hair cut into a bob, I hate going to the hairdressers and I can now recreate a lovely, sleek, turned under bob at home.

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/12/2017 23:38

@Dogsmom - which BB cream please?

stilltheykeepcoming · 28/12/2017 23:38

Waitrose seafood cocktail sandwiches.

Pumpkinpie657 · 28/12/2017 23:39

Tumble dryer! I always thought I didn’t need one but I was wrong.

ItsInTheDogsMouth · 28/12/2017 23:41

My instant pot. Use it pretty much daily for some dish or other. Probably my favourite kitchen gadget (after my coffee machine).

SomewhereOver · 28/12/2017 23:46

Love the tips for blepharitis. My little girl suffers badly with this so have just ordered the EyeBag and some Blephasol. Fingers crossed!

This year I have discovered Sertraline at a dose that's actually effective - I'm me again!

Also wearing socks in bed - so cosy and helps me to fall asleep.

Stormybubbles · 28/12/2017 23:48

WattdeEll Alexa without Phillips Hue bulbs.
I assume you mean with! I love my Alexa and Hue, it's been an expensive 'hobby' but now complete and i don't know how I lived without it. Back lit TV with uplights, hallway lights that come on because it knows I'm coming home, lights and lamps just dimming just by asking. Being able to group lights and colours and then the addition of IFTTT = mind blown. Alexa also turns my kettle on just by asking by the power of wemo plugs so I never enter my kitchen in the morning without tea being imminent plus all the music I could want along with news, weather and answers to most questions I may have.
Alexa has changed my life and made me definitely lazier!

Colour run sheets for the washing. Love not separating washing now makes it so much easier just bunging everything in together.
