To wonder how Ive gone this long without having an electric blanket.

Got it for xmas and its the best thing ever, although I never want to leave my bed again. Grin
Minus 10 outside currently but Im so cosy.

I suffer from lots of aches and pains and this is easing them so much.

Has anyone discovered anything this year that they could now no longer be without?

My DD. Grin

I manage my blepharitis with rice in a bit of an old pair of tights covered with a sock. 50 seconds in the microwave & then over my eyes while I'm falling asleep. Cheaper than lotion & has definitely helped. I do get flare ups from time to time but usually only when I'm run down & haven't been remembering to use my rice bag.

Can’t decide between a handheld dyson, a google home help thing plug so don’t have to go outside to turn off lights or the nespresso.

Skincare products from Waitrose, so good but oh so cheap 😀

AmberNectarine · 28/12/2017 22:36

Probably been said but a heavy duty sellotape dispenser. My god. Game changer.

AmberNectarine · 28/12/2017 22:36

Also, cashmere socks

I love my electric throw

Straycatblue · 28/12/2017 22:38

Soap and flannel. Never felt this clean
Soap instead of shower gel (MN recommendation!)

Ive read this a few times recently, going to try this too, apparently you feel alot cleaner than with shower gel, cant remember why tho.

Yep, dual control elec blanket - had it years, still use it every day, sometimes I put it on during the day and go back to bedThis is the pluggy thing (technical term) pluggy thing

Haha Im ill today and have mostly been cooried in bed with my electric blanket. Wifi Pluggy thing looks like a fantastic accompaniment

My kindle. I went from reading very little since I was a teenager to reading over 200 books this year. I've discovered some amazing authors and had a grand time. Looking forward to a 2018 of equal reading pleasure!

MiserableAsSin · 28/12/2017 22:54

The mumsnet app

BelfortGabbz · 28/12/2017 22:54

Ice cubes. Put a handful in the tumble drier with badly creased item of clothing, voila, not a crease in sight! Much easier than dragging ironing board out for one thing.

@timeforheroes

Could you please link the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish? Is it the one with the muslin cloth? My skin has also always been decent but needs a buff, I feel.

Re electric blankets, we have one on the spare bed. Mum and dad stayed recently when it was cold so we put it on for them. Mother fell in love, so their Christmas present was easy! I got them the cotton dual control one, I feel dad won’t use or want it, but mother will. Yet another little chore for dad to do when mother demands he go and pre-heat it for her!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 28/12/2017 22:58

Why don't you worry about loosing photos on iCloud catra?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 28/12/2017 23:00

Do all you EB users have it on all night?

undertheradarplease · 28/12/2017 23:00

My tumble dryer - I honestly don't know how I've coped without one until now. I know it's a first world problem, but seeing my damp laundry all over the house used to drive me to insanity!

My puppy - I didn't know what true love was until I had my children met this beautiful little fur ball

IrkThePurist · 28/12/2017 23:02

I love my electric blanket so much its the thing I would rescue if there were a fire. I bought an electric throw but had to sell it on Ebay because every time I used it I fell asleep.
The other thing I discovered this year is a proper knife sharpening steel. Its made cutting veg so much easier and safer. I dont have to press the knife so hard when I cut.

TeaAndToast85 · 28/12/2017 23:04

My v shaped pillow! DH laughs at me and calls me an old lady, but I've seen him using it when he thinks I'm not looking Grin

frieda909 · 28/12/2017 23:06

BB cream. I’m about ten years late to the party but I finally started using it this year and it’s made such a difference to the way my skin looks, with so little effort.

In a similar vein, I just started using Gatineau face cream which has absolutely transformed my skin. I got a sample in the Amazon Beauty advent calendar and I loved it so much that I ended up asking for the full-size (£100) tub for Christmas. Never thought I’d be one for expensive face cream but I bloody love it Blush
